The Manway Cannon is a safe,
environmentally friendly solution for
the internal cleaning of storage and
crude oil tanks. It consists of a cleaning
nozzle, video camera and searchlight
and is mounted via a roof or shell
manway. Operated from a mobile
control room, it can flush out any
point in the tank with water or an
alternative, such as light
hydrocarbon.

COWS Crude Oil Washing System

The COWS is a fully automated, ATEX certified, non-entry tank cleaning system designed
specifically to recover valuable hydrocarbons (entrained within sludge deposits),
minimise waste and reduce emissions. Comprised of several modules installed within
the tank bund, the system heats a supply of fresh crude which is injected via rotating
nozzles installed through the roof. The sludge is effectively washed within the tank and
hydrocarbons released for recovery via the COWS.
