Abstract
From the moment of its creation, the group that proposes this activity, has
been interested in the design of active learning activities where participation
and integrate different types of entities and transitional objects for the micro-
world or class laboratories and classrooms for learning. Continuing with this
process, the Group presents an activity whose purpose is to integrate the
stage used for food preparation, cooking, and use it as a tool to recreate
course concepts of operations research, specifically with the topic of Linear
Programming, looking to represent a diet problem.
The activity proposed by the group, focuses on the problems latent in the
students about the ability to formulate mathematical models in the topic of
linear programming, present difficulty in class and routine work of the
students. Normally, the teacher delivery for the formulation examples and text
formats, which at times can be abstract for the student, losing interest and
hindering the process of learning in the student. Similarly, the development of
the cross-cutting activity allows you to develop skills in the student as an
added value of the teaching-learning process: assertive communication,
leadership, efficient dialog and teamwork, as well as recognize the
importance of healthy eating in the human being.
