from a listener

Ways to Measure:

SCR - Skin Conductance Response
fMRI to measure BOLD (Blood Oxygenation)

Difficult to quantify. "Chill moment".

Not everyone is "eligible".
- "Chill" personality required?
- Not an automatic reflex response to any particular acoustic
(loudness/timbre) pattern.
- Requires familiarity with style, BUT...
- First time hearing (in a short timescale) = more chills.

Difficult to analyze -
Cannot cover a lot of repertoire, need sample size. limited to certain pieces.
Chopin Nocturne, etc.
Also, difficult to analyze over longer period of time.

- Kind of interesting - an unexpected combination of 5 main factors (not isolated

- combination of these)
- sudden (mainly increase) / decrease in dynamic.
- entrance of a new (solo) voice.
- registral expansion. (adding octaves up/down).
- harmonically ambiguous progressions.
- slow music more chill-inducing.
- Basically , Expectations/Denial of Expectations. (manipulating audience
psychology based on Gestalt)

-------------- Part that's not complete yet - is any analysis available on longer
