It is set in London, England, in the late '70.

It shows the daily life of a class of adult immigrants learning English in a further studies school, not
only in class, but also in the school canteen during breaktime, and even in the schools corridors.

It also pictures the relations between the teacher, a young man, and his headmistress, an elderly
bachelor lady.
