Introduction
The Vet-50 is a scale that is used to gain
accurate weight of an item. This scale is
specifically designed for use in a veterinary
medical setting, ideal for weighing small animals
under 50 lbs. The surgical steel casing allows
for easy sterilization between procedures. A non-
slip rubber mat gives this scale a stable surface
and can be removed for easy cleaning. Engineered
to meet FCC requirements, allowing the technician
to use scale in a surgical settings. Our scale
has a low profile look, creating a cohesive
device. Measuring 12 x 14 x 3 inches, making it
small enough to tuck away. Each section of the
scale easily unhooks for ease of transport and
comes with a lightweight carry case. The display
can be attached to the wall above the scale or
set horizontally on a flat surface.

The display has a large easy-to-read screen and

has large function button. The Vet - 50 scale
has an automatic memory function, which can
store up to 10 measurements, and has lock/unlock
option to help retain measurements. It is easy to
switch between grams, ounces, or pounds making it
extremely versatile.

gives the surface a non slip softer surface

7 BMI/Enter - select BMI to display body mass index

Operation Instructions

Scale
1. Set scale on hard, flat surface.
2. Plug power cord into electrical receptacle.
3. Make sure no objects are touching scale.

Weighing
1. Press power button to turn display on.
2. Wait for scale to display center-of-zero.
3. Place animal on scale.
4. Wait for the display to flash the weight 3
times.
5. Press lock button to freeze screen.
6. Remove animal from scale.
7. Report information.
8. Press unlock button to unfreeze screen.
9. Press power button to turn display off.

Changind Measurements of Weight

1. Press the unit of measurment button until
desired measurment selected (kg, gr, oz, lb).

Center-of-Zero
Display does not show 0 weight
1. Press zero button.

Center-of-Zero With Item On

1. Place item on scale.
2. Display will indicate a weight of item.
3. Press zero button.
4. Weight will stabilize scale with item on
scale and reset center-of-zero.
5. Follow Weighing operation above.

Replacing battery
1. Unscrew battery case cover (size 3 phillips).
2. Replace AA Alkaline batteries x 6.
a. Unplug NI-CAD/NiMH battery pack from unit.
b. Replace with certified replacement battery.
c. Plug new NI-CAD/NiMH battery pack into display.
3. Screw battery case cover back on (do not over
tighten.

-Err- Invalid entry was attempted
-OF- Out of range number (greater than -0/
greater than +75)
-trl- Reset center-of-zero

-Un5- Measurement cannot be calculated,

movement on scale
-CAL.B- Indicates calibration needed

-AdErr-
Consult certified Detecto Repair
-ErrAL- Center or certified Detecto Technician
-ErrAH-
-OCAP- Exceeds weight scale capacity
-OFF- Indicates display is turning off
-LoBat- Indicates low battery

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
Power Issue AC:
1. Check that power cord is
plugged in.
2. Check receptacle, try another

Product Warranty

Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company extends a 2 year

limited warranty, from date of purchase, against
manufacturing defects in material and workmanship.

First 90 Days:
Cardinal Scale Manufacturing Company will pay for
replacement parts and shipping for approved repairs.

After 90 Days:
The customer is required to take product to a certified
Detecto technician and required to pay any additional
fees. Additional fees include but are not limited to
parts shipping costs and service site calls and any
travel fees associated with site calls. This limited
warranty only covers services performed by Detecto
certified technician in a service center.

Exclusions:
Damages caused by misuse, negligence or accidents
(damage during shipment, storage, or installation),
and if product has been modified (including repairs
made with non-standard Detecto parts) or repaired by
unauthorized persons.
