Exit slip which asks students to

Students will write down on a


Intro piece of paper all of the long term
effects of the Middle Ages that
they can remember.

Students will share and we will


come up with a list as a class to
better understand the way Europe
was left before the rise of nation
states (the time period of this
lesson).
Powerpoint presentation about the
Activities specific ways in which the French
monarchy gained power. Students
will complete a fill in the blanks
worksheet on this PPT.

Students will watch a video clip


outlining the policies of Louis XIV.
They must take notes in order to
complete the closing activity and
homework.

In small groups students will be


given cut out pieces of paper with
policies written on them. There will
be 10 papers and only 6 are
attributed to Louis XIV. Students
will have to determine the policies
which are his.

Exit slip which asks students to
