Socioeconomic
Status?

Socioeconomic status is the level of influence that a


combination of factors such as income, race, gender,
environment, and education can have on a persons
life.
Claims

1. Socioeconomic status is correlative with opportunities


in teacher pay, low SES, middle SES, and high SES.
2. The 3 major factors of socioeconomic status are
environment, family background, and income.
3. Socioeconomic status affects the quality of education.

Quality of Education
Currently Education quality is very different among different areas. Areas with a
higher population of lower income citizens, experience less funding of education
leading to lower wages of teachers. Education affects wages so people who do
not have good education are suffering consequences as seen below.
Solution
There are some major actions that
need to happen to better education:

Spread quality teachers equally


among schools.
Increase student motivation
through a better environment
and educational role models.
