~ECCING I SHOTSHELL PRESS

MODEL 32

Operating
This press comes completely assembled, except the handle, the Instructions
powder and shot bottles, and the die set. The handle and the shot
and powder bottles are packed with the press, and the die set No. 33
in 12, 16, 20, 28, and 410 gauges may be packed with the press when
so ordered or may be supplied separately. The press should be bolted
to a sturdy bench or other surface with the edge of the bench approxi-
mately 1-1/4" in front of the base casting. The ideal setting is one
where the handle will come down and just barely go past center in
the linkage operation and the handle will than contact the edge of the
bench to prevent further movement. This makes for easiest operation
of the press. Place a primer catcher container in the front of the _POWDER
base casting directly in line with the primer rod. The handle of the SHOT __ BOTTLE
press is installed slanting to the right when in the upright position BOTTLE
to allow adequate clearance between the handle and the rotating turret.
Tighten handle set screw securely.
Bushings for dispensing both powder and shot are used in this CHARGE BAR
press and these bushings are fool proof and can not be reversed in STOP SCREW

position. From the loads suggested in the literature accompanying the CHARGE BAR

press, select the load you wish to use and note the type of powder,
the grains of powder required, and the weight of shot for that par-

accompanying these instructions, and install these bushings in the charge SCREW [IN REAR)
bar by removing the stop screw that retains the charge bar in the charge
bar housing and sliding the bar to the right for insertion of the powder bushing

and to the left for insertion of the shot bushing, or the bar can be slid to
the extreme right position exposing both bushing holes and both the powder
and shot bushings can be installed in that way. Return the charge bar CRIMP STARTER

Using a funnel put the correct powder in one of the plastic bottles WAD GUIDE IN PLACE
supplied and shot in the other bottle. These bottles are so finished on the
surface that the size of shot or the type of powder can be marked on them
in the space provided with a ball point pen. This is a strongly recommended
procedure where more than one type of powder will be used in reloading.
The powder and shot bottles are screwed into the threaded holes in the
charge bar housing located at the upper portion of the press. To ease
installation of these bottles, the whole charge bar housing assembly pivots SHELL
upward and around to allow the filled bottles to be installed in a nearly up-
right position. To accomplish this swiveling, the set screw that retains the

the bottles have been installed, they are swiveled forward to the operating
position and locked in place by the set screw just mentioned. When
installing these bottles charged with powder and shot, be sure the charge
bar is in the right hand position, and be sure and support the shot bottle
with one hand when pivoting upward into position as the shot bottle, when
filled with shot, is extremely heavy and may be torn loose from its
mounting if not so supported. Sliding the charge bar from the extreme
right hand position to the extreme left hand position will discharge
powder and sliding the charge bar from the extreme left hand position
to the extreme right hand position will discharge shot. The shot bottle
should be mounted on the left hand side of the charge bar housing and is extremely important for the best reloads. Excessive crimp will result
in the buckling of the case either at its upper end or just above the brass
the powder bottle on the right hand side. The charge bar itself is so de-
at the base. When this occurs the crimp die must be raised by screw-
