A Report of Peer Teaching
First meeting,
5th July 2017
At LP3
In this meeting, Mr. Amir told us about the definition of peer teaching and microteaching,
and also the features on it.
Peer teaching is a teaching practice that involved classmates as the students. While,
microteaching is a mini teaching practice. In doing peer teaching and microteaching, there are
three steps that can be differentiate:
1. Induction (opening) : including the opening, telling the learning objective, and
checking the
attendance
2. Main teaching : including the ability in prompting and probing, asking,
explaining, class
management, and also evaluating
3. Closure : including brushing up the material discussed and closing

Then, Mr. Amir divided us to teach four skills: 3 students teaching listening, 4 students to
teach speaking, 4 students teaching reading, and 4 students to teach writing.

Second meeting,
10th July 2017
At LP3
1. First speaker, Driasto Puguh Nugroho
The second meeting began by Driastos performance. He taught reading for Junior High
School student. He opened the peer teaching well. He used a good prompting, funny face, and
ask student to say animal name when he was checking the attendance.
Driasto used a good media in his teaching. His pronunciation was good although there still
a little mispronouncing. In closure, he did not forget to sum up or brush up the material on that
day.
Then, on that day, Mr. Amir reminded us to tell students about the goal. It should be
focused on our material. He also asked us to keep and share our knowledge. Mr. Amir gave a
good appreciation to Driasto.
Overall, that was great! Just a little nervous Driasto did, I think it was because he was the
first performer.
2. Second speaker, Dian Novitaningtyas
Dian Novi taught us the writing skill for junior high school student. She opened
the teaching by a greeting, continued to remembering the previous material and
mentioning the students learning objective. In her main teaching, her voice was so
slow, so I could not hear it clearly. There was still a little mispronouncing. Then, in the
closure, she forgot to sum up the material discussed.
After Dian performance, Mr. Amir gave us an advice to clean the whiteboard after
ending the lesson. It was a kind of tips to make student refresh their mind when they
move to another material.

3. Third speaker, Dian Ayunni Chyntia Rani

The third speaker, Dian Ayunni, taught us speaking skill for junior high school.
Her opening was so interesting as she used Simon Says to lead students concentration.
She told us the learning objective in the opening and followed by an explanation.
Dian Ayunnis pronunciation was so good and clear. She was able to involve
students to be the model to improve students understanding. In the closing, she also
summed up the material. I thought that she was one of the appropriate English teacher.
Then, Mr. Amir gave us an advice to make a good learning objective. A good
learning objective is an objective that is appropriate to its indicator. We also should
consider the Bloom Taxonomy.

4. Fourth speaker, Rizky Kurniawan

Rizky taught us listening skill for junior high school. His opening was so great
and funny. He delivered the learning objective and explained what would we discuss.
In the main teaching, Rizky played a song and asked us to fill in the blank. After the
task was done, Rizky gave the evaluation (summary).
Based on Mr. Amir comment, Rizkys assessment is not appropriate with its
learning objective. Mr. Amir also asked us to give a material or media based on the
students age. For junior high school student, the song that appropriate is about
friendship or nationality. That should be considered to build the students character.
Second Meeting
Monday, July, 17th 2017
At LP3

5. Fifth speaker, Novandy Nugroho

In the second meeting, Novandy delivered the material for junior high school on
reading skill. In the opening, he told the learning objective and gave a funny video.
His explanation was delivered fluently. But, actually I was not sure if it would be
delivered to junior high school student because it was too fast.
In the main teaching, he used a power point slide and explained the material. In
closing, he summed up the material and gave an assignment. Overall was so good, but
based on Mr. Amir comment, the video was not appropriate to seven grader student.

6. Sixth speaker, Zakiyah

In delivering the teaching, I thought that Zakiyah seemed like a little nervous. She
told us listening skill, but she forgot to tell the learning objective. In the main teaching,
she used s picture as the learning media. She also applied a cooperative learning and
played an audio. But, the audio is inappropriate to seven grader student, because it was
too fast. In closing, she summed up the material.

7. Seventh speaker, Eka Dewi Farhani

Hani taught us speaking for nine grader student. But in opening, she forgot to tell
the learning objective. She spoke slowly but understandable. In the main teaching, she
played a video appropriate to junior high school student. In closing she did not forget
to brush up the material.
But based on Mr. Amir opinion, Hanis assessment point was not brief. It should
be told briefly based on the learning indicator. Once again, Mr. Amir said that all of the
media should be considered based on the student age in order to construct students
character building.
Third Meeting
Tuesday, July, 18th 2017
At LP3
8. Eighth speaker, Khairani Dian Anisa
The eighth speaker, Khairani, told us writing skill for junior high school student.
He opened the lesson using a funny game. But, I thought that she spoke too fast for
seven grader student.
Khairani told us the learning objective and using a creative media in the main
teaching. She also used a cooperative learning activity in the classroom. In closing, she
did not forget to lead student to sum up the material discussed.
But, based on Mr. Amir opinion, the realia she used were inappropriate to junior
high school student, because it told the western people, not Asian people. It would
change the student mind about the beauty people. They may say that only western
people who had a white skin is beautiful.

9. Ninth speaker, Bella Zikra Fajtian

She taught us reading skill for junior high school. In opening, she told the learning
objective and gave us the handout. In the main teaching, she did not speak too fast, it
could make us understand. Suddenly, the light was blackout. I thought that actually she
had prepared anything well, but could not be used because of the blackout. In the
closing, she asked one of us to sum up the material discussed.

10. Tenth speaker, Reza Sofyan Hidayat

Reza taught the ten grader student in speaking skill. He explained the learning
objective and brush up the previous material. In the content material, he explained the
generic structure of narrative text using a good power point slide that appropriate to
senior high school student. The material he delivered was understandable. In closing,
he asked one of us to brush up the material discussed.
11. Eleventh speaker, Firda Rizki Nurfilasari
The material that delivered by Firda was listening skill for nine grader of junior
high school. She opened the lesson by playing an interesting video, but she forgot to tell
the learning objective.
In her worksheet, there is no numbering, so we were confused to write the answer.
But the power point media was good and interesting. When she would close the lesson,
she brushed up the material first.

12. Twelfth speaker, Deninta Dirgamaya

Deninta told us reading skill for junior high school year seven. She opened the
lesson using a song and that was appropriate to seven grader student. She also gave the
learning objective before explaining the material. In the main teaching, Deninta gave
some practice to student to assess them. In the closing, she summed up the lesson.

Before ending this meeting, Mr. Amir explained us some points to consider:
1. We should make a clear learning objective and its assessment based on the
indicator
2. We as the teacher should know whether or not the students understand what
we said
3. Please speak slowly to junior high school students
Fourth Meeting

13. Thirteenth speaker, Sarah Nur Azizah

It was the last meeting of peer teaching. Sarah became the speaker of this
meeting. She told us about reading the procedure text for junior high school. In
opening, she gave the learning objective and using a game to prompt students
knowledge about food.
In the main teaching, Sarah used a power point slide and cooperative learning.
And in the closing, she asked the student to sum up the material discussed.

14. Fourteenth speaker, me, Wening Nur Habibah Alif

I became the fourteenth speaker of the peer teaching. I taught speaking for
vocational high school student on year ten. First, I gave the RPP to Mr. Amir and told
what would I teach. I just explained that I would teach descriptive text about a
historical place. My learning objectives are, students are able to make a sentence using
adjective and students are able to retell the descriptive text about historical places.
I started the lesson by praying, told the learning objective, but forgot to check
the attendance list. In the main teaching, I delivered the material slowly and involved
the student to read the paragraph. Finally, in the closing, I closed the lesson by asking
one of them to sum up the material. Then, I entered Mr. Amir room to get his
evaluation.

15. Last speaker, Aan Triastuti

Aans performance was wonderful. She opened the lesson with a funny song that
was appropriate to seven graders. But in my opinion, she spoke too fast for seven
graders. She told how to write a good descriptive text by using the things around us.
She brought a bag as a realia, and asked us to write a sentence one by one. We as the
students felt so interested in her class. In ending the lesson, she asked one of us to give
a summary.
After all of us was done, Mr. Amir gave us an opportunity to take a photo with
him. Finally, we felt so excited due to the end of this peer teaching.
