Social Phobia

The person fear about social interaction. It includes social interactions such as meetings with
unfamiliar people situations in which the person may be obserbe eating or drinking and
specially in which person performs in front of others for instance performing on stage. The
main problem occurs with this type of person is that he/she feels embarrassed while sharing
their point of view with others or trying to communicate with others as fear of rejection that
people will not accept what he/she is saying or will talk behind his/her back about it.

Social phobia can be genetic and to run in families as well as social phobia can come in person
from interacting with the environment.

Abnormal Behavior
Abnormal behavior can be describe as statistically unusual behavior, Conidered strange or
undesirable by many people, a source of unhappiness. Abnormal behavior can cause change in
persons Thinking process,memory,perception and judgment as work efficiency will be reduced
person will be unable to cope with others will get worried all time anxious disturbance in daily
routines activities and no respect will be given to others or self and in person there will be lack
of self confidence.

Things that can cause abnormal behavior are unconscious mind, Fears, Bad Memories and
thoughts.

Models Of Abnormality
Biological Model

In biological model main focus is that psychological abnormality is an illness brought by


malfunctioning parts of the organism.

-Typically Focused on the brain.

Examples: Depression and anxiety

Source of biological abnormalities is genetics


Psychodynamic Model

Psychodynamic Model is based on persons behavour whther normal or abnormal is


determined largely by underlying dynamic psychological forces or which she or he is not
aware.

Abnormal symptoms are the result of conflict among these forces as this model is proposed
by sigmond freud says abnormal behavior is caused by three unconscious forces .

The Behavioral Model


Like the psychodynamics perspective behaviorism is deterministic and is based on the idea
that our actions are determined by largely by our life experiences.

. Emphasizes observable behavior and environmental factors.

. Focuses on how behavior is acquired and learned over time.

Humans and animals learn to behave in certain ways as a result of receiving rewards
whenever they do so.

The Cognitive Model


Seeks to Account for behavior by studying the ways in which the person attends to interprets
and uses available information.

.Concerned with internal processes.

.Present Focused.

People must be taught a new ways of thinking to prevent cognitive behavior.

The SocioCultural Model


Influenced by sociology and argues that we must examine a person social surroundings to
understand their abnormal behavior.

Focuses on societal labels and roles and social networks and support.

Focuses on family structure and communication.
