Hull LL PRP bull It is almost impossible to repair FRP parts aboard ship. On-board repair is limited in such swale that small scratches or cracks can be temporally filled with prepared polyester putty. 12 Woodenware Replace or reinforce woodenware by anti-rusting treated metal bands. nails or rivets according to degree of damage. 13° Hardware Replace or reinforce hardware by welding or soldering and give anti-rusting treatment according to degree of damage. 1.4 Fiber products Replace or repair fiber products by same material according to degree of damage. 15 Gasket Replace or repair with adhesive paste according to degree of damage. 16 Glass Replace defective glass. 1.7 Transmission Replace gear or connection components if it is impossible to transmit power. 18 Packing gland Replace packing gland in case that it leaks seawater in spite of tightening up of gland. 1.9 Drain valve ‘Supply plug for drain valve if correct quantity of plugs are not attached to valve. 1.10 Storage of collected rainwater Replace or reinforce storage by pad using adhesive according to degree of damage. 1.11 Manual pump Replace pump if there is crack or damage in hose or suction and discharge valves malfunction. 1.12 Safety belt Replace defective belt. 93 2. Machinery 94 1 Main engine Oil coating and greasing Any sings of rusting should be removed and coated with machine oil and rotating parts should be filled with lubricating oil. ‘Terminal connection of devices should be inspected and defective parts should be repaired. Operation test: Operation test should be carried out aboard ship and afloat condition after launching at appropriate opportunity (ones/month, at least ones/3 month) to check running condition. After operation test ensure that valves of cooling water line are opened and flushed with fresh water and drained completely. Repair of defective parts Defective parts should be overhauled and repaired aboard ship as far as possible. Others Refer to main engine instruction book. Cautions Do not start the engine on board except maintenance and fresh water flashing. When start the engine on board to connect fresh water hose to the flashing valve. (if fresh water hose is not connected, inpella of a cooling pump will be damaged.) ‘When start engine on board engine clutch into lever must be at neutral position. When you check a clutch, please carry out at sea, (The propeller shaft will be damaged if a clutch is put in) 3. Electric 1 Storage battery ‘Tighten up electric terminal if it is loosed Batteries other than maintenance-free one check the quantity of liquid. If required, it will charge. When you perform charge, please be careful of an input and an output. enough. Moreover, please be careful not to become over charge. 4, Equipment 4.1 Plastic products Replace defective products. 4.2 Compass Fill up replace liquid if there are many bubbles in liquid or liquid is colored. Replace compass or make order to maker for overhaul of compass whose inside paint has severely come off. Whose directional system is badly worm or whose lighting apparatus has deteriorated. 4.3 Food ration If there is tear or deformation in packaging replace such packing of food to prevent possible consequential deterioration in water tightness and air tightness even within effective period. 4.4 First-aid outfit Replace first-aid outfit if water tightness of container cannot he kept because of crack or deterioration of packing. Fill up shortage or decrease of contents immediately, Replace rust motal product, gauge, bandage and medicine which is of contained water, 4.5 Signals If there are water drops on signals wipe them up with dry cloth.
