Council paid tribute to four
Webb City Little League teams.
The 12-year-old team has
won the state tournament for
the third year in a row and is
headed back to the regional
tournament.
The teams first regional game
will be against Nebraska or
Iowa at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug.
7 at Westfield, Indiana. Dona-
tions (accepted at any South-
west Missouri Bank) to help pay
expenses are requested by Aug.

Mayor Lynn Ragsdale reminded

pearances in the Little League
World Series.

Jerry Fisher and James Daw-
son, were on city teams in the
mid 1950s before the first Little
League state tournament in
1957.
The 2002 team that went to the
World Series is the first from
Webb City to win the state tour-
nament. Other Webb City state
championship teams were in
2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016.

On Aug. 8, the city is asking vot-
ers to approve a local use tax.
Without the tax, the city will no
longer be able to collect rev-
enue from out-of-state vehicle

the city to collect the amount of
its sales tax on purchases made

in unexpected places is espe-
cially exemplified at A Storage
Place storage facility in Webb
City. The units are just like any
others, except for the fact that
there are paintings on the side
of the units, illuminated by
lights in the nighttime. Owner
Jayson French is responsible
for the beautification of the
units.
French, who works as the vice
president of programming for
Christ in Youth, which puts
together events for believers
across the nation, is a Webb
City High School gradu-
ate and longtime Webb City
resident. He and his wife built
their storage units as a way to
provide a service for the com-
munity.
I always say that you find

He explains that he wanted
to provide a place for people
needing a place to store
things, whether that be the re-

the loss of a job or a divorce or
just a desire to declutter. It was
later on that he had the idea to
