Purpose of this assignment
This unit will provide the analytical knowledge and technique needed to carry out a range of engineering task
and will provide a base for further study for further study of engineering mathematics. You have to produce a
written report on the all task given in this assignment.
Scenario:
You have complete your engineering apprenticeship and have a position in the R&D department of your
company as a junior mathematical analyst. You have been asked by your line manager to find the solution to
some of the R&D project problems.

Task 1a : (LO 1: 1.1) M2

main components which is water pump and crank. You as a technician analyse the both component and figure
out there is an error occur when the belting start to moving. When both gears start to rotate, annoying sound

water pump, output given from the scan tool is 5 cos2 t + 3 sin t 3 = 0 and for the crank is 2 cosec2 t 5 cosec
t = 12. Solve both equations by using trigonometric identities to solve both trigonometric equations so you
might figure out where is the location of errors occurs. Construct graph on both equation given.
