Student Support Policy Statement

Dear Professional Student,

Student Support Policy

Simon Page College of Marketing (hereafter referred to as SPCM) is a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM),
UK accredited study centre in Nigeria and as such is bound to follow CIM rules and regulations as it pertains to
entry requirements and student enrolments.

In other to deliver on the SPCM brand promise to you, it is important that every party (SPCM, the Professional
Student and the CIM) play their role. Below are policies guiding the student support in the achievement of the
CIM/CAM qualification within the period stipulated.

Fees & Enrolment Policy

Set deadlines for the payment of fees are fixed and will not change. The Professional Student must
strictly adhere to these timelines.
Fees are to be paid in full before enrolment into classes can be processed. While payment of fees in
instalment is allowed, tuition fee for each module must be completed before lectures for the module
commences. The sole criterion for entry into lecture hall is complete payment of the tuition fee for
the relevant module.
Tuition fee must be paid in full before CIM Exam/Assessment entry/booking will be processed.

Refund, Deferral & Discount on Re-enrolment Policy

The Registration fee N10, 000 is a one-time only administrative charge and is non-refundable.
Tuition fee (payments in Naira) is refundable only before lecture for the particular module
commences. Refund is not applicable and will not be processed after lectures have started.
The Professional student can defer his/her enrolment should the need arise however enrolment can
only be moved once, and to the next available diet with an administrative charge of N15, 000 per
module. Deferral is applicable before lectures ends (for the relevant module) and only if the student
has not attended lectures at all. Lecture attendance (no matter the frequency) disqualifies the
students from deferring any module.
Re-enrolment applies when a student fails to complete a module in the session for which he or she
enrolled for and needs to make another attempt. This may be as a result of an inability to participate
in the assessment of that module or an inability to achieve the pass mark after results have been
released.
A 20% discount will be applied on the tuition fee for students who are re-enrolling as a result of not
participating in the assessment.
A 50% discount will be applied for students who are re-enrolling as a result of an inability to achieve
the pass mark after having participated in the assessment. This discount is dependent on whether or
not the students achieved a minimum of two-third lecture attendance and was able to meet set
deadlines on submission of assignment drafts for review by the supporting Tutor.

General Student Support Policy

The Professional student is responsible for noting, setting reminders and attending relevant lectures
based on the schedule/timetable communicated by SPCM. SPCM will offer additional support by
sending lecture reminders at regular intervals but will not be liable for lack of receipt of these
reminders or students inability to attend lectures.
Lecture schedules are set taking into consideration the time required to complete each module in
time for final assessment, the students convenience (work-life balance), the availability of a qualified
Tutor, and other external factors like days of observance. In view of these, lectures are scheduled for
Saturdays and Sundays. The lecture schedule are set and fixed however, SPCM reserves the right to
change lecture schedules in circumstances beyond its control.
Timelines are set in order to provide a structure for every party to work with. It is important and
critical to the success of the student that they are strictly adhered to. The tutor reserves the right to
decline to review work/drafts sent after the deadline.
The professional student is responsible for personal study and research required for success in each
module. SPCM recommends at least 90mins daily of study and research beginning from the
commencement of lectures till assessment is completed.
SPCM staff will provide administrative and tutor support to every student but shall not be liable for
students non-performance.
SPCM will provide out-of-class and offsite support to student majorly through emails and sometime
phone calls. Since the preferred communication is through emails, please include SPCM in your
preferred emails so emails dont end up in your spam folder. It is also the students responsibility to
ensure that his/her contact details with SPCM is up to date.
The professional student will read each email and accompanying attachments completely and ensure
that the content is well understood. They will also request for clarification where necessary. SPCM
will not be liable for misinformation arising from the students inability to receive or read emails.
