INTRODUCTION
On the job Training are part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students
about the work and their future career. OJT is very important not only to teach students
their chosen career but to show students the reality about working.
As one of the 4th year students that have undertaken the course in Civil Engineering.it
was a very special opportunity for me to put my academic training experience into a
real world application. The course has provided me the venue to further enhance and
broaden my knowledge and competency as a civil engineering student and for future
career objectives after graduation. As a student trainee, I have been able to take
advantage of the tools and skills I have been equipped by my intensive academic

Concrete Pouring
Description of Activities:
DPWH engineers arrived at the site for inspection. Before concrete pouring, we
conducted Field Density Test (FDT). FDT to determine the moisture content of the soil before
pouring. As we perform FDT one DPWH engineer discussed us about FDT, and its important,
He also lectured us about the different equipment and tools used in road constructions.
Concrete pouring started at 10:00 AM. Engr. Myrda assigned us to get some concrete sample,
Samples were placed in a beam mold. The beam mold is used to prepare concrete specimen for
flexural testing of concrete. Available in a 20 in. length with a cross-section of 6x6 inches. We
also helped in spraying curing compound. We also help Engr. Mydra to measure the finished
widening and record the length and station for their accomplishment report.
