ae 6 Lest? ee re ne 14" Nov. 2016 = Ge Ne Sr Vice President ~Power plant oo Subject — Approval Note for procurement of Carbon — Sulphur apparatus and other chemicals Respected Sir, Presently Castamet is having one spectrometer which is used for analysis of chemical composition of heat. On the basis of analysis we maintain the chemical composition of casting. As the spectrometer is calibrated for global sample, we have planned for individual calibration for which we have to give shutdown of spectrometer for 8 hrs in a day for 4 days. Total ~ 32 Hrs shutdown. (Loss of 35 Ton melt or approx. 20 Ton Casting production) During the shutdown of Spectrometer our production also will be remains under shutdown. To avoid the shutdown, it is proposed to use PMI instrument (available at Ras, Beawar store and SP — Ras) and Carbon sulphur apparatus, we already tried the PMI for various sample testing. As PMI is not measuring the Carbon and Sulphur % we have to procure the Carbon / Sulphur apparatus. We have called 3 parties offer, out of which Metlab is our preference (having Cost about 100% higher than others 2 parties) as the same is already dr used.at 1A Some of the chemical are available at SMP lab and some chemical having cost of about Rs. 15,000 has to be procured to operate the apparatus. Total cost on H1 basis is about - Rs. 75,000/- Same apparatus can be used in future with PMI to continue our production in case of any breakdown in Spectrometer.
