1 Ericsson Alarms Handling As Is Process

1.1 Ericsson - High Level Process Flow

Input
The input for system alarms is the data from UFM tool
List of nodes and their login procedure including IP, login id and pwd
MOPs for catching alarms from UFM & troubleshooting

Process
1. Monitor the UFM tool for alarms
2. Perform Basic troubleshooting
3. Create TT/TSK if required for next level support
Output
TT for the FM Team

TSK for Circle Team

TT Closure by attaching RCA

1.2 Ericsson - As Is Pre-process Steps


None
1.3 Ericsson - As Is Post Process Steps
Follow up on the TT/TSK Raised during this process
1.4 Ericsson - As Is Detailed Process Steps
1 Login to UFM as per steps provided in common section
2 Apply filter for Ericsson Vendor alarms which are part of RPA scope and apply TG view

3 For alarm type Permanent fault


3.1 Get BSC details from Alarm text

4 Login to WinFoil as per steps provided in common section


5 Login to BSC via eaw <BSC Name>
6 Run Command Allip
7 For alarm type Permanent Fault, perform below steps
7.1 Search for alarm text RADIO X-CEIVER ADMINISTRATION MANAGED OBJECT FAULT in
Summary column in excel data and Permanent Fault in Alarm Slogan text

7.2 Copy the MO data from 4th row below the row which has alarm text in summary column. In the
snapshot below MO is RXOTS-307-7-3.
7.3 Block/Unblock MO by below commands
rxbli:mo= MO;
rxble:mo= MO;
7.4 If command is not executed successfully , then wait for 10 seconds
7.5 If command is not executed successfully , then wait for 10 seconds

7.6 If Command is executed successfully as below


7.7 Then check status of MO by command
8 Rxmsp:mo=MO;

8.1 If MO is in FAIL state, then process block/unblock command again. If it is still FAIL, then create TT
and assign to L2 as per steps provided in common section. The MO State should be OPER as
below. If OPER, then attach RCA to TT as per steps in common section

9 For alarm type DATA OUTPUT, AP COMMON DESTINATION HANDLING, DESTINATION


FAULT, perform steps as below
9.1 Get BSC details from Alarm text
9.2 Check Current Alarm on BSC by below command to check if alarm still exists:-
Allip:alcat=apz;
9.3 Log in APG by using Command aploc;

9.4 Check Defined Destination and their IPS:

9.5 Check status of Destination IP by command
cdhver DESTINATION;

9.6 If status is not OK, create TT and assign to OSS as per steps provided in common section. If OK,
assign TT to L2

10 For alarm type CCITT7 SIGNALLING LINK FAILURE, perform below steps
10.1 Get alarm details from Excel data
10.2 Get Link State details from below command

10.3 Then Check Media details using below command

10.4Get details of media device using below command. Copy sub-string after DEV-

10.5Check E1 Details by entering command as below

10.6Get DIP Details by entering command as below and search for DEV in dev column as below. Search against
SNTINL value in below column and copy parallel DIP value

10.7Check DIP Status Details by entering command as below


<dtstp:dip=9RTT2; in case Dip Status is other than WO, then create TT for TXN team.

10.8If status is not WO, then create TT and assign to Transmission as per steps in common section. If WO, then
assign to L2
11 For alarm type CELL RF OUTPUT POWER SUPERVISION, perform steps as below
11.1 Get alarm details from Excel data
11.2 Login to BSC node and check alarm status using allip command. Get CELL is from alarm data

11.3 Enter command as below to get cell details

11.4 Enter command to change status of cell to halted as below


11.5 Enter command to change status of cell to active as below

11.6 Check Cell status


11.7 If Cell status is not active, create TT and assign to L2 as per steps in common section. Else attach RCA to
TT

12 For alarm type Radio X-ceiver Administration Managed Object Fault and alarm slogan as BTS
Internal perform steps as below
12.1Check alarm status after login to BSC

12.2Copy MO from alarm data , convert it to TG(RXOCF-xxx to RXOTG-xxx) and Enter command to get fault
codes at TG by entering below command:
12.3Copy fault code from above step. In above snapshot fault code is 2A-9 for CF type MO. Search for this fault
code in MO Fault Code Template. Please refer Appendix for Fault Code Template

12.4 Create TSK and assign to Field as per steps in common section with fault code details. If Fault Code not
found, assign to L2
13 For alarm type RADIO TRANSMISSION IP GB INTERFACE FAULT perform below steps
13.1Get alarm details from excel data including BSC/CELL id
13.2Check alarm status after login to BSC
13.3Enter below four commands on the cell in sequence
rlgrp:cell=CELL ID
rlgse:cell=CELL ID
rlgsi:cell=CELL ID
rlgsp:cell=CELL ID
13.4If GPRSSUP status is Yes on Cell, attach RCA to TT. Else create TSK for Field
