(KISHORE VAIGYANIK PROTSAHAN YOJANA)

NOTIFICATION 2017

KVPY is a national level fellowship program which is run by Indian Institute of Science
(IISc) and is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The purpose of the program is to encourage students for a career in research Science
and to identify and help students with caliber and potential towards research. By doing
so, the fellowship aims to ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and
development in the country.

KVPY 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Stream SA: Students enrolled in XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2017-18
and having secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in
MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board examination.

Stream SX: Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year
201718 and aspiring to join undergraduate program in Basic Sciences namely
Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics & Biology leading to B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. for
the session 201718 provided they have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks
in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the X
Standard Board Examination and a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate
in SCIENCE subjects (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) in the XII standard Board Examination.

KVPY 2017 Application Form

Interested candidates should fill in the KVPY 2017 Application Form online. Detailed
instructions for filling in the online form will be given on the official KVPY website and
candidates are instructed to read through all the given instructions carefully before filling
in their application. Candidates filling in the KVPY Application Form will be required to
pay an application fee of Rs.1000/- (+ taxes) in case they belong to the General/OBC
category and Rs.500/- (+ taxes) in case they belong to the SC/ST/PWD category.

Steps for filling online form.

Candidates applying for KVPY Fellowship Exam are required to apply only through the KVPY
website: http://www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in/

Before proceeding to filling up the Online Application, the candidates should have scanned
image of their (a) Photograph and (b) Signature (c) scanned copy of caste/medical certificate (for
PWD) in CD/DVD/Pen drive as per their convenience.

Note: Please keep in mind that your recent passport size photograph and signature :
max 80KB (Only JPEG and JPG formats) and your Caste certificate : should be max
300KB(Only PDF, JPEG and JPG formats)

NOTE :

1. PLEASE FILL YOUR APPLICATION WITH UTMOST CARE. APPLICATION FEE ONCE PAID
CANNOT BE REFUNDED AT ANY COST.

2. TAKE CARE TO UPLOAD THE RIGHT DOCUMENTS OF YOUR PHOTOGRAPH AND SIGNATURE/
CASTE/ MEDICAL CERTIFICATE (FOR PWD).

3. IF YOU UPLOAD WRONG DOCUMENTS OR WRONGLY UPLOAD DOCUMENTS IN

WRONG PLACE; Ex: PHOTO IN PLACE OF SIGNATURE OR SIGNATURE IN PLACE OF
PHOTO THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO RE-APPLY YOUR ONLINE APPLICATION AGAIN.

Step 1: Candidates are first required to go to the KVPY website

http://www.kvpy.iisc.ernet.in/where you will find the following links
Online Application for KVPY 2017- Candidates can click on this Link to apply for the
entrance exam by filling up the online application.
Eligibility- Candidates can check their eligibility for the various streams offered at KVPY
through this link
Important Dates- Candidates can check the Exam dates and other important dates.

Step 2: Make a note of the eligibility criteria and important dates. Click on the link Online
Application for KVPY 2017. You will be directed to the Login Page.

Step 3: If you are a first time user, you will have to first register by clicking on the link
provided for registration.

Complete your registration carefully filling your Name, Email id and Mobile
number. No duplicate entries are allowed.
On successful registration, you will receive your User ID and Password on your registered

Email and Mobile No.

Please Note: Subsequent to receiving your User ID and Password, you will not be able to edit
your Name, Stream, Email and Mobile Number. In Case you need to change these fields then
you will have repeat Step 1 to 3 and obtain a new User ID and Password.

Step 4: If you have received your User ID and Password, login from the candidate login
Page using your Candidate ID and Password.
After logging in with your Candidate ID and Password you can:
View your partially filled application form,
Edit your application information (except some fields) by clicking on the Edit button, and
Upload the mandatory documents like scanned photograph, signature and Cast / Disability
certificate as applicable.

Step 5: After filling in all your mandatory details, click on Preview Application to view your
filled application and verify the details entered by you.

This is also one last chance for you to edit the information in your application except
you will not be able to edit your Name, Stream, Email and Mobile Number.
Click on the Submit button to complete your application and Re-loin to do the online
or challan payment.

Step 6: If you choose to pay the exam fees Online, you can pay your fees either through
Internet Banking, Credit card or Debit card.

If you choose to pay the exam fees through Challan, you will have to take a print out of
Challan and make a payment in any SBI Branch

Step 7: After completion of your payment through online click on the Submit button, to
complete the payment process, you will get a massage on top of the Application Form as Your
Application is under Scrutiny.
 After completion of payment through offline process, upload the challan and fill in the
details and click on the Submit button, to complete the payment process, You will get
a massage on top of the Application Form as Your Application is under Scrutiny.

Step 8: The Scrutiny of your application will take at least two working days from the time you
successfully submitted your application.Candidates are advised to go to the login page
again (at least after TWO days) to check the status of their application. If you get a message
on top of your application which says Your application is successfully submitted You may
take a print out of your submitted application. Keep a copy of the submitted application for
your reference and safe keep. You will need to carry this copy during interview.

KVPY Admit Card 2017

The admit card for candidates who have registered for the Kishore
VaigyanikProtsahanYojana (KVPY) Aptitude Test-2017 will be issued by the exam
conducting body two weeks before the scheduled date of the test. Candidates who have
filled in their applications online can download their admit card through the official KVPY
website while the admit cards for candidates who have applied with a hard copy of the
application will be sent to them individually by speed post.
