Community school established in 2002 with a high number of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students.

Teach full-day kindergarten in a predominantly African-American school with 96% of students on free lunch through the National School Lunch Program. During tenure, have taught class sizes ranging from 21-22 students in a curriculum of English language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science. Follow the Ohio Learning Standards for classes with no previous school experience. Design lessons to engage the students at all learning levels, working closely with grade level teams to list standards, questions covered, content, activities, and assessments. Communicate with students in a manner conducive to learning and retaining information. Develop a robust relationship with student families, sometimes utilizing a translator. Manage processes and learning progress within the classroom to maximize student learning and their overall potential.

SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION:Work with 7 students each day to provide small group reading and math support.

PIONEER OF TEACHING TECHNIQUES:Identified the need to teach early literacy skills using a common language to K-2 and developed an effective program around this concept. Created a presentation of this program for the K-2 Team.

Initially hired to work as a long-term 4th grade substitute teacher at Johnnycake Corner Elementary School, then moved to another long-term 4th grade substitute teacher position at Cheshire Elementary School. Upon completion of the 2nd long-term substitute teaching role, hired as a Reading and Math Title I Teacher at Glen Oak Elementary School. Teaching focus at Johnnycake Elementary and Cheshire Elementary included language arts, math, science, and social studies. Specialized in reading and math intervention support for Glen Oak Elementary.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH: During tenure at Glen Oak Elementary working as a Title I Teacher, planned and hosted 2 annual events to involve families with students enrolled in the intervention programs.

Hired by the Owners as both an Office Manager and Project Manager for this small, startup company seeking to get a foothold in the advertising and design industry. Initially focused on setting up a new system for tracking progress on each project that was more efficient and effective than what was previously being used. Managed timelines, budgetary constraints, project planning. Oversaw the office supply inventory.

TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION:Researched alternative programs for use in managing client accounts.

CLIENT NEEDS ANALYSIS: Attended client meetings alongside the designers to document client requirements and ensure all needs were met. Proactive communicator to clients, account managers, and design teams.
