Topic: Heart Disease
Goal Statement: The audience will understand how to prevent a heart disease or
how to properly take care of themselves if exposed to this disease
Thesis Statement: Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death, but there
are many ways to help prevent or how to properly take care of yourself if you have
this disease.
Introduction: Many things can lead to the cause of heart disease. This disease has
affected both men and woman and has killed many people. Yes this disease may be
one of the leading cause of death, but in some ways we can prevent it or help it
from killing the ones who have it. In this world today there are many different
treatments that you can go through to survive heart disease. There is also many
ways to keep yourself healthy to also help you survive this disease.
A. What is heart disease?
1. Cardiovascular disease that is a disorder of the blood vessel of the heart that
can lead to a heart attack.
2. Most common types of of heart disease
Coronary artery disease
High blood pressure
Cardiac arrest
Congestive heart failure
Stroke
B. What type of treatment can be done?
1. Angioplasty: is a procedure that uses very little cutting to open blocking
heart arteries
2. Heart transplant: A person's diseased heart is replaced with a healthy donor's
heart. The donor is a person who has died and whose family has agreed to
donate their loved one's organs.
3. Heart bypass surgery: This can treat heart disease when your coronary
arteries are blocked. Your doctor may treat the problem by giving the blood
a new pathway to the heart.
C. What are things that cause heart disease
Unhealthy diet
Lack of exercise
Over weight
Smoking
Genetics
D. Things you can do to prevent or help this disease
No smoking
Following a healthy diet
Physical activity
Control your blood pressure
Manage stress
Conclusion: There are many harmful diseases out there and if you continue to
have a healthy lifestyle living it can help you live a longer life. Its not carrying the
disease that's the hard part its how you handle and take care of it is the result of
what you will get
