AMIRAN is a mineral glass that has an anti-reflective optical-interference coating on one or on both surfaces and can
be used for outside windows, display windows, display blackboards, advertising displays, boxes at sport stadiums,
reception areas, show cases.

The following specifications apply for the technical properties

TP AMIRAN SCHOTT AntiReflective stock sizes
TP AMIRAN SCHOTT AntiReflective cut sizes

AMIRAN SCHOTT AntiReflective is available in following types:

AMIRAN on float glass:

Standard clear float glass with an anti-reflective coating on one surface (referred to as A1F and AV1F that can be
thermally toughened as of here) or both surfaces (referred to as A2F and AV2F that can be thermally
toughened as of here), produced in a dip-coating process based on optical interference systems and available in
different thicknesses. Disturbing reflections on the inside interfaces are basically eliminated with a laminate consisting
of two A1F glasses.

AMIRAN on white glass:

Extra clear low iron float glass (white glass) with an anti-reflective coating on one surface (referred to as
A1W and AV1W that can be thermally toughened as of here) or both surfaces (referred to as A2W and AV2W
that can be thermally toughened as of here), produced in a dip-coating process based on optical interference
systems and available in different thicknesses. Disturbing reflections on the inside interfaces are basically eliminated
with a laminate consisting of two A1W glasses.

AMIRAN on tinted glass, grey:

Contrast enhancing mineral glass with an anti-reflective coating on one surface (referred to as A1G and AV1G that
can be thermally toughened as of here) or both surfaces (referred to as A2G and AV2G that can be thermally
toughened as of here), produced in a dip-coating process based on optical interference systems and available in
different transmittances. Disturbing reflections on the inside interfaces are basically eliminated with a laminate
consisting of two A1G glasses.

AMIRAN on float glass or white glass with a low emissivity coating (low-e) as insulating glass:
Upon request, AMIRAN is available as solar control glass thermal insulation glass as insulating glass. arcon sunbelt
platin is used as the solar protective coating and arcon N 33 as the heat insulation coating. The lighting values are
available upon request. If desired, other low-e coatings can be considered for whether or not they qualify. The lighting
values are available upon request.

AMIRAN can be thermally toughened.

The setting parameters for the furnace for thermal toughening are similar to those of normal float glass, but still must to
be modified. For further information, please refer to the technical information Recommendations for Working with
SCHOTT AntiReflective" that are available upon request.

Laminated safety glass

For laminated safety glass, glasses that are anti-reflective on one surface are always to be used. The side that is not
anti-reflective must always face the interlayer. The maximum thickness for glass that is anti-reflective on one side is
10 mm. When it comes to the appearance of laminated and laminated safety glass, the demands stated in
DIN EN ISO 12543-6.

The subsequent properties are based primarily on the measuring results of the very latest standards and
measuring methods. These are defined in the corresponding Measuring and Test Procedures.
We retain the right to change the data in keeping with the latest technical standards.
Non-toleranced numerical values are reference values of a typical production quality.

Values marked with do not apply to the type of glass or no values are available.
VW 0060/2e

Requirements deviating from these specifications must be defined in writing in a customer agreement.

6. Miscellaneous

6.1 Cleaning
see Technical Information No. 2001, cleaning instruction

6.2 Wettability of glass surface by humidity

The wettability of the glass surface may differ due to imprints of rollers, fingerprints, labels, paper
grain, vacuum suction, lubricants.
With moist glass surfaces caused by condensation, rain, or cleaning with water, different types of
wettability may be visible. These types of phenomenon are typical and offer no grounds for a claim.

6.3 Storage
AMIRAN glass must be stored in a dry, ventilated, weather protected area or when on
construction sites protected with appropriate covers such as tarpaulins. Contact with excessive
moisture and varying weather conditions should be avoided.
AMIRAN glass plates must be stored upright on a suitable base support. The base support and
the angle between it and the uprights must be padded to avoid causing any damage to the edge
seal or the glass. The base support, as shown in the sketch below, should be at right angles to
the surface of the glass.

It is advisable to store glass plates grouped by thickness to avoid to shuffle through the stack
with the possible risk of damaging the coating by scratching.

AMIRAN glass should be protected by acid-free paper interlayers while they are in storage. The
paper interlayers which are used between the individual sheets of glass when they are shipped
from the factory can be reused for storage purposes. If cork pads are used as spacers between
the sheets of glass, adhesive should be avoided to keep them in place.
When opening shipping crates containing glass, use tools with care to avoid damaging
(scratching) the glass or breaking it.

6.4 Loading and Unloading

Suction lifters with clean rubber surfaces can be used to load or unload the cases. Avoid sliding
the suction cups across the face of the glass.
For glasses which will be thermally toughened, it is recommended to protect the suction lifters
with a topcoat (e.g. MTC 2 from euroTech) to avoid suction marks that may be visible after
thermal toughening.
If multi-cup suction lifters (with 4 or 5 cups for example) are used for unloading, the sheets of
glass (up to a thickness of about 6 mm) can be lifted and put down together with the paper
interlayer. In the case of thicker glass the paper must be removed if necessary. Otherwise the
glass can slip if it is too heavy.
If the glass is unloaded without the paper interlayer, the surfaces of the suction cups in contact
with the glass must be clean and not lubricated too much.

6.5 Insulating glass
The technical data on light, radiation and heat for customer-specific insulation glass made out of
AMIRANis determined using valid standards. Depending on the order, the manufacturer will confirm
these values.
