Kekuatan / Kelebihan
Perancangan / Pelaksanaan Sesi Pengajaran Pembelajaran

The lesson is well planned where teacher scaffolded the lesson to cater students level. The

lesson started with the interesting induction where Teacher Siti Salbiah delivered a speech

about the students responsibility in education. The speech emphasised on the usage of

sequence connectors such as First, Then, After that, and Finally to indicate the cohesiveness

of the speech and smooth transition to another paragraph. Therefore, students were able to

identify the important elements in the speech before moving on to the next task. The

strength of this lesson was teachers communication and classroom management where

teacher gave clear and concise instructions during group activities and performed

preventative technique to avoid students disruption or misbehavior by narrating the

positive behaviors of students and encourage other students to follow the demonstrated

positive attitude. Students also participated actively in group discussion as they tried to

finish the task on time. Teacher also instilled positive culture in the classroom where he

utilized interesting attention grabbers to bring back students focus and stressed on the

moral values such as respect and collaboration to ensure successful lesson. Overall, the

lesson is well- planned and executed

During presentation, teacher modelled on how to answer PT3 questions and stressed on the

format of short notes writing. Teacher should fully utilized technology and introduce the

certain vocabularies related to the health topic (topic for the day) as students have limited

vocabularies. Furthermore, teacher can use pictures, relic or authentic material such as

newspaper articles to activate students prior knowledge and these teaching aids cater to

multiple intelligences, a concept that had been invented by Howard Garner. This strategy

allows students to further develop their strengths and build on their weaknesses (Nicholson-

Nelson,1998). This MI-influenced activities allow students to access their individual

intelligences and figure out that there is not just one way of learning that can be explored.

By rewarding time with stars will also show acknowledgement and appreciation as students

sometimes feel they are being scrutinized only by their mistakes and wrong doings in the

classroom. In turn, this strategy will promote safe and positive classroom culture and allow

students to learn better.

Teacher can incorporate learning station or Gallery Walk where teacher can introduces

vocabularies related to the topic during presentation. This Gallery walk caters to different

multiple intelligences especially kinesthetic, linguistic, visual-spatial intelligences and this

encourages students to choose how they will learn and demonstrate their knowledge of a

particular topic. By giving students choice will also intrinsically motivate students

(Palmer,2007) and empower them to take ownership of their own learning. In addition,

teacher can use multimedia such as PowerPoint slideshow or visualizer to emphasise the

effect of obesity where students can use the knowledge they gained during science and

utilized this knowledge in their writing. Teacher can use illusion of gaming in classroom

management especially in reward system as students will be extrinsically motivated to focus

in the lesson. Teacher can track down their students behavior and participation by

rewarding students positive behavior with stars in group settings. Therefore, this alleviate

competitiveness between students and incorporate fun in learning.

The lesson is well-organized and structured as teacher collaborated to ensure a smooth

lesson. Teacher decided to incorporate live demonstration and this demo had been

performed by Sir Muhammad Zamanhuri bin Mohd. Liew where Muhammad Zamanhuri

demonstrated a few skills in volleyball. Then, Zamanhuri also explained about the benefits of

joining this particular club as students listened attentively to figure out main points in this

demonstrations. This live demonstration enables students to listening speaking which is a

paramount skill in English PT3 examination. In addition, teacher focuses on a topic that

students can relate as they have enrolled themselves in curriculum clubs which later will

activate students schemata and allow them to analyse and synthesis the information to

apply in the new settings.

The weakness of this lesson was the lesson transition was fast and sloppy as students could

not comprehend the instruction given out by the teacher well. This was due to the limited

time and teacher poor time management. Poor time management affects productivity and

efficiency of the lesson and it will lead to constant frustration and disappointment (Covey,

Merill and Merill , 1994)
