Introduction
In the past few decades, scientists have increasingly warned that mother earth may be heading towards
an environmental collapse. Climate change has emerged a a new threat to the civilisation since the dawn
of the industrial age. While climate change is a global threat, it is also true that the third world may be its
major victim. The vulnerability of the third world lies in its inability to deal with climate related disasters.
Pakistan is also among the list of countries highly vulnerable to climate change. It is unfortunate, that we
as a nation show little interest in understanding and dealing with this impending threat. Climate change
is a reality, however, there is little awareness in the public about it. To deal with the challenge of climate
change the government needs to take several steps including educating the masses so that a major
threat to the security of the country ma be deterred.
