1. SCOPE

1.1. General Rules and Information

This Method of Statement is exclusively intended and applicable in this particular project
only for the Main Feeder System Works. This method is for the cables installed in a cable
rack, cable trench and duct banks, direct burial and enclosed in conduit.

1.2. Work Coverage

Cover in this particular work is the supply of manpower and resources by PT. Kinden
Indonesia to the point of completion including inspection and acceptance.

1.3. Override
For any instance that there are some changes of works occur that are not mentioned in this
Method of Statement shall be properly discussed immediately and the outcome of
discussion shall be absolutely followed and agreed procedures may override.

1.4. Recognition
To avoid any inherent mistakes during execution of this particular work, the contents of this
Method of Statements shall be thoroughly verified. A copy shall be distributed and
recognized by all concerns prior to the commencement of works.

2. MATERIALS

2.2 Procurement, Handling and Storage

These materials are locally purchase within the vicinity in Republic of Indonesia and
subject to delivery by the supplier. Proper handling shall be carried out to avoid
deformation of insulation and severe damaged of cables. Secure a safekeeping place
with ample space for the storage of cables.
To store the cable that is not rolled in a cable drum :
Dont lay directly the cables to ground but instead put a piece of blue sheets below the
cables and place it above the blue sheets and cover properly.
To store the cables that is rolled in a cable drum :
Position the cable drum in an upright position then put a wood stopper to prevent it from
rolling down and the protection cover should not be removed until it will be used.

2.3 Check and Inspection

Prior to acceptance, the materials shall be thoroughly checks in accordance to materials
receiving checklist, FM/OPR E026.

3. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENTS

3.1. Preparation and Sources

To prevent further delays and attaining quality of works, proper tools and equipment shall
be qualitatively chosen in terms of safety and capability. PT KINDEN INDONESIA will
provide these tools and equipment as listed in table below.

4.2. Work Survey and Overview

4.2.1. Drawing Review and Familiarization

It is required to study the entire construction drawing not only electrical drawings but
also the drawings of different trades and discipline such as mechanical, structural,
plumbing / sanitation, slopes and grids and most of all architectural drawing so that
electrical installation can not hinder architectural activities and design. In order to
achieve a harmonious installation, every works shall be properly review and proper
coordination and discussion must be observed.

4.2.2. Check and Coordination

Prior to installation works, ensure that the actual site condition is in safe and sound
for the execution of works, check any obstruction with respect to the approved shop
drawings and immediately coordinate with the people concerns and proper
discussion should be carried out. Also survey and investigate the routing, to decide
and estimate the length of wires needed.

4.3. Table and References

A. Tables for allowable current (catalogue from maker)

4.4. Installation Method (Reference : KDI 011; CMWD E011)

Considerations:
A. Prepare the sizes and types of cables for a certain installation in accordance to the
shop drawing and specifications.
B. Verify and study carefully the circuit routing before pulling or laying of cables in
cable rack or conduits.
C. Double check and verify sharp edges of conduits or cable racks to avoid damage of
cable insulation.

4.4.1 For installation method of cables in a conduit the following steps shall be
observed:
A. Verify and study carefully the route area and panel designation prior to pulling of
cables in the conduits.
B. Double check for locknut and bushing if properly installed for GIC pipes and end
bell for high impact conduit.
C. Insert guide wires and pulling string inside the conduit.
D. Tie tightly one end of sets of wires to the pulling string and make sure it will not
detached while inside the conduit then wrap with electrical tape around the joint.

E. Check the distance of pull box to pull box (30m or less), if the distance is long and
passing through maximum offsets, it is advisable to use pulling compound to
protect wire insulation from damage.
F. After pulling the cables, cut with the desired length. Take note before cutting of
cables in the panel: see to it that the length of cable has enough allowance for
looping and termination.

4.4.2 For installation method of cables in a cable rack the following steps shall be
observed:
A. Install order of cables from longest to shortest route.
B. Install order of cables from thickest to thinnest sizes.
C. Install cable tag as close as possible to the panel. ( or coordinate with person in
charge for the location of cable tag )
D. Install the cable straight as far as possible avoiding the cables from meandering or
intersecting.
E. Bind and support the cables with binding bonds at intervals of 2 meters or less for
vertical part and 2-6 meters for horizontal part.
F. Ensure the cables are not very close to information/communication/control cables
to avoid interference and keep a maximum distance of 150mm or more, if
impossible separator. (100mm high shall be insert)

4.4.3 For installation method of cables in a cable pit the following steps shall be
observed:
A. Ensure that the pit is thoroughly clean and sufficiently dried-up.
B. If a low voltage cable and high voltage cable are installed in the same pit, a metallic
separator shall be provided and must be properly grounded.
C. Proper looping shall be considered inside the pit especially for sinkable soil.

4.4.4 Consideration for bending radius of conductor as follows:

A. The conductor shall not be bent to a radius less than 8 times the overall diameter
for non-shield conductor or 12 times the overall diameter for shielded or lead-
covered conductors during or after installation.
B. For multi-conductor or multi-flexed single conductor cables having individually
shield conductors, the minimum bending radius is 12 times the diameter of the
individually shielded conductors or 7 times the overall diameter, which is greater.

4.4.5 For loop check and Circuit tracing of cables the following should be observe:
A. Check again the tag name and panel board designation, but by this time, tester
instrument is needed for actual identification.

5. WORK INSPECTION AND QUALITY CHECK

5.1. Internal Inspection

A routine inspection from PT. KINDEN INDONESIA site manager, engineer and Q-CAS
team shall be carried out to ensure that the installation is in accordance to quality
standard and comply to approved shop drawings and also the approved materials used.
Internal inspection shall be done during first stage of work, in the middle stage of works
and after completion of works.

5.2. Witnessed Inspection

The site manager, engineer and Q-CAS team of PT. KINDEN INDONESIA shall prepare
inspection request address to client's representative using standard form FM/OPR E027
and prepare Inspection control sheet FM/OPR E0 documents as needed during
witnessed inspection by the client. Proper supporting documentations shall be completely
attached and photograph are taken during actual inspection. (Reports shall be separately
keep by PT. KINDEN INDONESIA engineer and QA/QC team for documentation and
submit to client representative an original copy).

6. OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY CONTROL

6.1. Job Safety Analysis and Work Hazards

It is improper to start a work without consideration the risk and safety of personnel
working in site. To overcome and to avoid any untoward incident or accidents in working
area, proper safety practice shall be strictly implemented. Identify the nature of works that
can create hazards and find ways and means to avoid occurrence of such events.
