Dear Sir,

I have read your advertisement for the above position with great interest. My career goals are to continue to
utilise and strengthen my experience in Safety, security training of manpower, consultation and risk
management in workplace. I am confident that my experience, skills and education will be an asset for the
organisation. I bag more than fifteen years experience working in safety, security, emergency preparedness
training and risk assessment here in Australia and Pakistan. I am Australian Citizen and hold valid Australia
Passport.

Presently I am working as Work Health and Safety Officer and Return to Work Coordinator for the last three
years. Before the present assignment I worked in RailCorp NSW as a Law enforcing Officer for eleven years. I
did my bachelor of engineering degree from Pakistan and served there in senior engineering /Managerial
positions including Safety & Security for several years. Here in Australia I completed diploma in Occupational
Health & Safety and Certificate IV in Training and Education (TAE)involving competency in providing
training and literacy to adults. Also have completed Safety Management Systems Auditor/Lead Auditor Course -
NCSI Australia and SMS (RABQSA-OH) - NCSI Australia and achieved demonstrated competency in AS/NZS
4801:2001 requirements. OHS As/NZS 4801: 2001 developed by Australian and New Zealand standards
association which has many similarities with OHSAS 18001 developed by the British standard. There are many
similarities between the two, and an understanding of one gives a fair understanding of the other. Conceptually,
the difference between the two standards is that AS/NZS 4801:2001 refers to the elimination of work-related
injury, while OHSAS 18001:2007 commits to the prevention of injury and ill health within the described scope
of the management system. Health is a key focus in OHSAS 18001 and elimination of injury is pivotal in AS/NZS
4801, however in both cases, the goal is for an injury and illness free work environment.

I have extensive experience working with all stakeholders including senior management here in my present job
as well as in my all previous employment advising them about the safety, security and providing security and
safety management planning and technical support including quality control. That includes conducting
workplace audit and other issues to ensure the due diligence of implementation and appropriateness in
planning. That also includes reporting and investigation of incidents and submitting recommendations of
investigation reports to higher management for necessary actions.

I have extensive experience in delivering training and coaching office staff field based staff and contractors. In
my present job I myself have developed Occupational Health Safety and Induction Safety Training to office staff,
field staff and contractors. I am responsible to ensure that all staff are trained and retrained in specific fields of
training such as First Aid and other training programs required performing their job safely. Consultation plays
a vital role for the effective and secure workplace I consult with all stakeholders during the workplace
visit/inspection for the specific needs of the training to create a safe and secure environment for everyone
involve.

In my present job I am directly involved in planning the emergency prepared plans with the consultation of
relevant stakeholders including Local Fire Brigade, Police and State Emergency Services of New South Wales.

Before the present job I worked in Ralcorp NSW for eleven years as Transit Officer. The job of Transit Officer
was a Law Enforcing job. As Transit Officer I was involved in dealing with the commuters and offenders
travelling on the rail network, providing safety and security to the commuters, dealing with emergencies on the
rail network and providing assistance to people from different cultural and linguistic background. Job also
involved gathering/sharing intelligence information with other agencies such as NSW Police.

I can confidently say that I am a good team player. I regularly contact and coordinate with all stakeholders such
as Councils workers, field engineers, supervisors, HR Manager, senior Management whereas my external
stakeholders include the nominated treating doctors, rehabilitation providers, Independent Medical Examiners,
Councils insurers (StateCover) and Safe Work NSW.

I have got demonstrated skills of English language both written and verbal. When I speak to someone I convey
my message in a clear and concise manner so that the message I am delivering must be communicated to
everyone involve. Similarly I write reports, Safe Operation procedures and other documentation including
workplace audit and inspection in simple English that is understood by everyone. Beside English I can speak,
read and right Urdu (Pakistani) Language. Urdu language is also understood in some part of Afghanistan.

I am passionate about Workplace Safety and a good WHS environment does not happen by chance. It needs
management commitment and support of other stakeholders such as workers and other managerial staff.
Council had WHS Committee. I have been providing technical assistance in design and development of OHS-
related training and information as well as coordination with external Registered Training Organisations (RTO)
for the delivery of the high risk activities such as Working in confined space, construction work Traffic control
training programs, working on highly inflammable materials and chemical substances. I have extensive
experience in maintaining Record the entire workplace incident and injury register for investigation and
remedial actions of the workplace incidents including near misses. Provide update information to organisations
insurer and Government regulators and present and discuss all with OHS issues in OHS Committee for
consultation.

In the last but not least most importantly although I am living here as Australian for the last 17 years, I am well
aware of the Cultural, social and ethical values of people of Middle East as I was born in Pakistan as well as
worked there in senior managerial positions for several years. I am prepared to travel in the region.
