Updated PV Elite by only requiring groove weld details for integrally reinforced nozzles with
an F-1 ASME weld type. Previously, the software considered fillet weld details and groove
weld details when analyzing these nozzle configurations. Since fillet weld details are not
required for these calculations, the software has been updated to no longer consider those
details for the calculations. In addition to this update, a new note was added to the Nozzle
Calcs report to remind users that this nozzle configuration requires a full penetration weld
between the nozzle and vessel shell. (CR-TX-15673)
Updated PV Elite by displaying a warning message when certain tubesheet material

enter different thicknesses between the floating tubesheet and stationary tubesheet plates.
(CR-TX-11620)
Fixes
User Interface/Graphics
Fixed the incorrect display of insulation on flat head elements in the 3D model in PV Eite.
The software now correctly draws insulation on the top of a flat head element instead of the
side of the element. (TR-TX-18110)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software did not accurately display the geometry and
shape for reverse geometry flanges in the 3D model. The software no longer displays
Reverse Geometry Weld Neck Flanges the same as Integral Weld Neck Flange on the
3D model. (TR-TX-18301)
Fixed an issue in CodeCalc in which the software incorrectly displayed the minimum
thickness in metric thickness in metric units when you performed an API 579 analysis.
Previously, when you used metric units and you selected API579, FFS in Analysis Type in
the Shells and Heads module, the software displayed an incorrect value for the minimum
thickness on the Drawing tab. (TR-TX-17514)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software did not graphically display reinforcing pads
for certain vessel leg types. Previously, when you created vessel legs with reinforcing pads
in which the Section Identifier option was a Single Angle type, the pads did not graphically
display on the 3D model. The issue has been fixed, and reinforcing pads display on the 3D
model for all leg types. (TR-TX-15610)
Fixed an issue where cone graphics did not fully display on the 2D View tab if Shell Section
is not selected on the Additional Element Data tab. (TR-TX-16909)

Documentation
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which certain values for the bolt root area in the Nominal Bolt
Diameter section of the PV Elite User's Guide were incorrect. Previously, the centimeter
values for the bolt root area were a direct conversion from inches to centimeters, instead of
square centimeters. The table that displays in the documentation has been updated to
display the values of the bolt root area in square centimeters. (TR-TX-15780)

Analysis/Calculations
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which splitting a packing unit resulted in an incorrect total
weight of the resulting packing units. Previously, when you split a packing unit, the sum of
the resulting units did not equal the weight of the single packing unit even though the density
was the same. (TR-TX-17877)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which a Fortran error caused the program to abort during
analysis. Previously, an error occurred when an array contained a value larger than its
upper limit. The value limit for the array has been updated and the issue is resolved. (TR-
TX-17893)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software unexpectedly closed when encountering a
Fortran error. Previously, when you performed an API 579 analysis and did not enter data in
the Critical Thickness Profile tab, the software encountered a Fortran error and closed
when you clicked Quick Calc. The software no longer closes but instead displays an error
on the Quick Results dialog when you do not enter critical thickness profile data. (TR-TX-
16920)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software did not vary the allowable stress for different
loads when performing an FEA analysis of thick expansion joints. Previously, the software
restricted the allowable stress value to S for all loads. According to ASME Section VIII,
Division 1, Appendix 5-3(a), the allowable stress value should be 1.5S for mechanical loads,
and 3S or 2Sy for mechanical plus thermal loads. (TR-TX-15778)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software used an incorrect hydrotest allowable stress
value for lug and leg supported vessels. Previously, the hydrotest allowable stress
conservatively used S for WRC calculations. The software has been updated to use the
Allowable Stress, Hydrotest value from the Material Properties Dialog for these
calculations. (TR-TX-18361)
Fixed an issue in which the software did not consider platforms when calculating wind loads
in the longitudinal direction. Previously, the formula for Saddle Reaction Force due to
Wind Fl or Friction did not include the correct values for Fl and Friction Load. The
software now correctly calculates these values and the formula. (TR-TX-18435)
Fixed an issue in which the software did not consider the value in Tapped Hole Area Loss
for a certain Appendix 1-10 nozzle calculation. Previously, the software ignored the Tapped
Hole Area Loss value in the Area Contributed by the Nozzle Outside the Vessel Wall
[A2] calculation on the Nozzle Calcs report. The software now uses the value to calculate
the average primary membrane stress for Appendix 1-10 calculations. (TR-TX-18454)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software did not allow you to model legs with a
certain shape type. Previoiusly, when you selected a leg in which the Section Identifier
field contained an Unknown Shape type, the software encountered an error when
attempting to close the Leg Dialog. The issue has been resolved and the software models
legs of any type. (TR-TX-16357)

Output Reports
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the nozzle thickness values based on UG-45 on the
Nozzle Summary report differed from the thicknes values in the Minimum Wall Thickness
of Nozzle Necks [tUG-45] calculation on Nozzle Calcs reports for the corresponding
nozzles. Each report now displays the correct thickness values. (TR-TX-16968)
Fixed an issue in CodeCalc in which the software displayed an incorrect substitution value
on an output report. Previously, when you used Kgf_cm2 units and entered a value in User
Input Spring Rate Corroded or User Input Spring Rate Uncorroded on the Expansion
Joint tab of the ASME Tubesheets module, the software displayed that value [Kj] in
different units in the Compute Factor [J] calculation on the ASME TS Calc report. (TR-TX-
18307)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which the software used the incorrect design pressure to
calculate the required thickness of the shell due to jacket pressure. Previously, the software
incorrectly used the Cylinder Internal Design Pressure value in the Minimum Cylinder
Thickness due to Limpet Coil Pressure calculation. The software now uses the Coil
Design Pressure value to calculate the required thickness. The final answer was not
affected by this issue. (TR-TX-18684)
Fixed an issue in which the compressive stress exceeds the expected amount when adding
a ladder or platform to a vessel. Previously, when you added a ladder to a vessel, a warning
displayed on the Stress due to Combined Loads report stating that one or more elements
in the vessel were overstressed. The software now correctly calculates the compressive
stress of elements with a ladder. (TR-TX-18517)
Fixed an issue in PV Elite in which asterisks displayed instead of numbers for figures too
large to display on output reports. The issue was resolved by displaying large figures in
scientific notation. (TR-TX-15342)
