Program Expectations / Rules as revised: 01/07/2016

BEING A PROFESSIONAL:

You are in this program to become a competent Computer, Network, or Security technician. It is
necessary for you as a student, to develop a highly-professional attitude, with an ethical approach
to your work, your instructors, your classmates, your clients and yourself. As a professional you
are expected to follow the rules and expectations of the program and follow proper procedures
gracefully. Your conduct must be above reproach, your appearance needs to be professional in
nature (clean, neat and in good taste). When you act like a professional, you will be treated like
a professional. Acting like a professional will give your clients confidence in your abilities as an
IT technician. Treat WTC like a job, give us the respect you would give an employer.

DISCIPLINE:

Since NSA/TSS are adult programs, it is expected that discipline will not be necessary. Students
are expected to exercise self-discipline. A pleasant and fair classroom situation will exist if each
member of the class cooperates with each other and places the needs of the class ahead of their
personal needs. Complete respect of each other, is a must at all times. Dis-respect will not be
tolerated. Bullying will not be tolerated, if you feel you are a victim of a bully, please inform
your Instructor.

ATTENDANCE:

All students will receive a daily grade, if you miss a day you will receive a zero for that day.
There will be no make ups and grades will be averaged weekly. Coming in late or leaving
early will be given a 50% for that day. Attendance is based on 15 minute segments, 1
minute late is a 15-minute loss, 16 minutes late is a 30-minute loss and so on. Make a habit
of coming in late, you will be sent to student services on an attendance referral. (If you
consistently arrive late to a job, you will be fired.)

Regular and punctual attendance is required. In order to meet State hour requirements for
completion, a 100% attendance rate is necessary. Cutting class is unprofessional and will not be
tolerated. Absence due to illness (a contagious disease or of a nature requiring immediate
medical attention), or a death in your family will necessitate your calling the instructor within the
first hour of class to report your absence. Absences and tardiness can be a basis for dropping a
student from the course. Attendance is weighed @ 40% of your grade.

To meet the course requirements, students must be present for the entire class period. Do
not ask to be dismissed early. We use a biometric scanner for attendance, clock in for the
AM class, out at lunch, back in after lunch and out at the end of the class day. You never
leave the Campus without your instructors knowledge and permission. There is a sign out
sheet used for breaks. If you fail to clock in you will be marked as absent for that period or
day. If you fail to clock out, you will be counted as left early for the entire period.
