5 An experiment is carried out to investigate the rate of reaction of magnesium with sulphuric acid.

Excess
magnesium powder is added to 20 cm3 of 0.1 mol dm-3 sulphuric acid. Table 5.1 shows the volume of gas collected
at intervals of 30 seconds.
