Imperial Knight Award

1st Grade

The Imperial Knight Awards are given out at the end of the year to students
who go above and beyond the required curriculum. Twelve of the seventeen
items need to be completed to receive this award. The required items are to
be completed at home. Items with an * have specific instructions. Please
refer to the First Grade website: silvercrestfirstgrade.weebly.com (under
Parent Tab) for instructions on how to complete items with an *.
Due Friday, May 11th, 2018.

1. Complete a Flat Stanley Project*.

2. Complete a community service project. Write about what you learned from your
experience. Visit http://www.kidworldcitizen.org/2013/02/20/35-service-projects-for-kids/
3. Prepare a science experiment. Write the steps or make a video showing the steps it took to
complete the experiment. Present it to the class. Visit this website for ideas:

4. Memorize and correctly write first & last name and birthday.
5. Memorize and correctly write address and phone number.
6. Memorize 3 poems with a minimum of 6-8 lines each. Please provide the teacher with a
copy of the poem before sharing. No nursery rhymes.
7. Using details, write and illustrate a story with a beginning, middle, and end using details.
8. Participate in physical training, lessons, classes, or a team sport. Bring in a copy of
the instructors/coachs signature with a statement of what you did.
9. Perform or display a fine art for your class. Suggestions are playing a musical
instrument, performing a dance routine, singing, or displaying a visual art project
such as a drawing, a sculpture, a watercolor, or a photo that you have created.
10. Complete a minimum of 4000 minutes of home reading/i-Ready time.
11. Read a book, then create a puppet, collage, written report, etc., and share it with the
class. What habit from the 7 Habits is depicted in your story?
12. Complete an American Contributions Project*.
13. No more than 5 absences during the entire school year.
14. No more than 1 tardy per term.
15. Complete an Animal Report*.
16. Memorize lunch number by September 29, 2017.
17. Participate in the PTA Reflections Contest.
