UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

There is much talk about the power and scope of the new digital platforms and the
different consumption habits that these generate, for them it is easy to forget the
importance that the traditional means still have. At least in the United States radio
reach is still significantly higher than the rest, even 5 points above the television, so
the Nielsen Audio Report.

In the United States during the first quarter of the year, radio was consumed at least
once a week by 93% of the adult population (+18), reaching 223 million people. In
this way it surpasses the radio to the television with a weekly reach of 87%, whereas
the digital platforms are left behind considerably, being the smartphone is the digital
device of greater penetration with 70%.

On the other hand, while radio is gaining as a powerful medium, television remains
unimpaired in terms of its average weekly usage. According to Nielsen, the
Americans have spent during this first quarter, on average 36 hours a week watching
television, which is more time than they spend with the rest of all other platforms
together.

ENGLAND

Listening to the radio is a very common British custom. The BBC and other
independent stations make up a wide range suitable for all tastes.

The media is one of the main sources of information for our teenagers today.

It is very important to know what they are absorbing, what they are learning from all
the information that comes to them, it can not be denied, TV is a powerful instrument
of socialization whose objectives are to intervene in the definition of symbolic
meanings and control. Adolescents play a commodity role in the consumer society.
Therefore, it would be logical to point to television as double-edged weapons.

The television language, the image, is a contorneal language, figurative, but not
conceptual. It appeals to the senses, but does not exist in a close relationship with
high mental activity. Contrary to what happens with verbal language. The television
image is also distinguished from drawing, as it shows reality. Thought, in its higher
strata operates with abstract mental schemes and not with images, could somehow
become obstacles to understanding.

The T.V offers an indiscriminate message on quality and rhythm. In the extreme case
are the generalized tensions to large masses, whose defect on the individuals can
only be regulated a posteriori by the people when they make a rational use of the
receiving apparatuses. But in saying that parents can choose the most appropriate
programs for the training of their children, it is often forgotten that sometimes the
parents themselves lack sufficient training or preparation to determine which are the
most appropriate.
MEXICO

Today, the media is a persuasive tool that allows us to keep in constant

communication with the different social, political and economic events, both
nationally and internationally.

The influence exerted by the media on today's society in Mexico is undeniable, in

some cases this capacity for intervention on the individual, and also on the social
community can be beneficial, however on other occasions, can have a real effect
harmful. The media have an indisputable usefulness, but they must not deceive or
take over the life of the viewer, using their own criteria.

Although this is their social function, it is also necessary to take into account that the
recipient's will can not be conditioned, since the media offer a wide variety of content,
and the recipient is the one that has the power to select them Or choose them.

However, it is also true that some media, known as sensationalists, are able to create
high ratings by disseminating information that in some cases violates the ethical
limits of the information culture, leading to conflicts between the right to privacy And
the right to freedom of communication.
