SJK (T) LADANG ALLAGAR 34800, TRONG, PERAK.

SUBJECT: ENGLISH - PAPER I (033)

Introduction

On the whole, two out of three pupils achieved the targeted marks. One pupil
(Vnesh) was targeted to get 80 and he scored 78 B. One pupil (Tamilchelvan) was
targeted to get 70 and he scored 64 C. Another pupil (Pavithiran) was targeted to get 40
and he scored 28 E only. Therefore, there is a small gap between the pupils TOV and
AR 1.

Weaknesses
The pupils could not understand the relevance of learning English.
Pupils have no purpose to use or practice English language at home or among
friends.
One of the pupils cannot associate the letters to their sounds.
Pupils lexicon is not sufficient to understand or answer comprehension
questions.

Ways to overcome
Pupils are guided to answer each section in this paper 033.
Drilling method is used mainly to teach them how to answer comprehension
questions.
The teacher provides an English speaking environment by speaking English to
the pupils.
Pupils are required to answer 1 set of paper in every lesson.
Pupils are guided to identify the key points when answering MCQs.

SUBJECT: ENGLISH - PAPER II (034)

Introduction

On the whole, none out of three pupils achieved the targeted marks. Two pupils
(Vnesh) and (Tamilchelvan) were targeted to get 70 and they scored 48 D and 50 C
respectively. Another pupil (Pavithiran) was targeted to get 40 and he scored 26 E only.
Therefore, there is a wide gap between the pupils TOV and AR 1.

The pupils could not understand the relevance of learning English.
Pupils have no purpose to use or practice English language at home or among
friends.
Half of the pupils cannot associate the letters to their sounds.
Pupils lexicon is not sufficient to understand or answer information transfer
questions.

Ways to overcome
Pupils are guided to answer each section in this paper 034.
Drilling method is used mainly to teach them how to answer information transfer
questions.
The teacher provides an English speaking environment by speaking English to
the pupils.
Pupils are required to answer at least one essay question per week.
Pupils are guided to identify the format of informal letter, email, note, description
and certificate.
