MODULE OVERVIEW:
This flight is very similar to the VRS WIKI tutorial that came with your VRS airframe. However, it is designed
to allow the SNA pilot the opportunity to practice different navigational procedures around the KNPA area. You
will be directed to perform several different navigational system functions during this flight. It is assumed you
are comfortable with the VRS systems prior to joining a military organization. If not, please refer to the VRS
WIKI tutorials that came with the VRS on your own.

!1
VRS USERS NOTAM:
The VRS is the most complicated airframe available for FSX and you will need to get a handle on the
flight characteristics and systems to be successful. If you haven't already done so, fly the tutorial that
comes with the VRS. If you follow that then all the issues (nav, comms, weapons) are explained during
that tutorial. It is impossible for us to teach you the VRS system. You will get more specific squadron
related VRS system training once you graduate. But the core of FRTP is to teach naval aviation proce-
dures only, not aircraft specific systems. It is assumed that when people join the VUSN and want to fly
the VRS, that they have a working knowledge of the airframe. The tutorials should provide you with
that information if needed.

MISSION SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS
This flight is designed to walk you through the basic procedures needed to get in the air, navigate towards way-
points, and use various VRS Navigation and Communications systems. We'll then return to base (RTB) for a
standard approach and landing. We will NOT be covering, Weapons systems, EW procedures, Radar or other
tactical systems. That will be covered in other FRTP missions or once in the fleet. FRTP is about naval aviation
PROCEDURES ONLY, basic navigation, and carrier operations procedures.
The following is a brief synopsis of this flight. PLEASE follow the specific instructions located inside the
VUSN VRS MANUAL if you are unsure of how to accomplish a certain navigation task. You can pause
the flight to read a section and perform the tasks asked.
