Developmental
Childrens learning and skills acquisition is by nature, but develops at
the childs own pace. Each child is respected and supported at each stage
development as they progress toward their own goals and potential.

Play-based
Play is the childs natural process for learning and development. Within
plays natural learning environment children develop socially,
emotionally, physically, and intellectually.

Child-Directed
Children learn best by being able to accomplish things themselves. We
appreciate it when children take control of their learning because its the
most effective way.

Teacher- Supported
We prepare a nurturing environment with a wide variety of material and
activity, and ample opportunity to explore.

Integrated
The curriculum includes all parts of the preschool day, including arrival,
routines, care taking transitions, and departure as well as planned
activities and spontaneous play. Learning occurs in all areas of the
classroom and is not an isolated event, drill, or activity.

Emergent
The curriculum is created daily as the childrens interests and ideas are
freely explored. They are encouraged to make their own choices, explore
their own ideas, and to follow their own interests which allows children
to be involved in the real process of discovering knowledge.
Responsibilities for the children
To provide a loving and nurturing environment for all children.
To teach children, so they are prepared for kindergarten.
To ensure the safety and well-being of children during school
activities.

wash hands before coming into the classroom.

your childs behavior in school such as lack of sleep, an upset at
home, separation from family member, etc. This knowledge will
help teachers to better understand your childs behavior and

A. Discipline Policy
a. Here at Little Rascals Clubhouse, discipline and guidance
centers around respect and responsibility. Each child is
expected to be a respectful, responsible member of our group.
This ranges from children cleaning up their own messes to
using manners and politeness when speaking with teacher,
parents, and each other.
b. All rules center on these respect/responsibility safety
guidelines. The only rules are those that are required to
maintain a safe and respectful environment for all the
children in our center.
c. We follow the 1-2-3 time-in procedure. The child will get
two warnings upon the first and second instances of the child
not acting safely, or being irresponsible or disrespectful. If
the child continues the action that is not acceptable, the child
will receive a third strike and a time-in. We explain to the
child, why they are away from the group or not playing. They
will be in the same vicinity as the other children. They will
be given something to do or play with while they sit, and
think about what behaviors are acceptable. The time-in will
last for the ages of the child (for example, if the child is 4,
they will get a 4 minute time-in.

B. Health Matters & Illness Policy

a. For the well-being of all the children enrolled at our facility,
and staff we ask that you please Do Not Bring Your Child to
Daycare Sick with A Fever.
b. If a child becomes ill while in care, the child will be
separated from the other children to prevent further illnesses.
c. Parents will be notified to pick-up their child within the hour.
If we cant reach you, we will leave messages where and
when its appropriate. Next, we will contact the primary
person on your emergency contact list and so on.

C. Termination Policy

a. We recognize that every child may not be a good match for

this program so we enroll each child on a two week trial
basis. During the two week period, or at the conclusion of
that second week the parents or the provider are allowed to
terminate care without consequences as long as daycare fees
are paid in full.
b. After the two week trial period is completed and both you
(the parents) and provider decide this arrangement is a good
match the child is successfully enrolled.
c. Beyond that point, terminating the contract requires a two
week written notice by parent/guardian and all fees paid at
the end of those two weeks. Provider may terminate the
contract at will and no fees will be changed. If there is any
gross misconduct on the part of the parent or child, that is
grounds for immediate discontinuation of services.
d. In the case of non-payment, legal action may be taken, and
the parent (whomever signed the contract) will be subject to
pay all legal fees incurred.
