Instructional Objectives: At the end of the lesson, 100% of the students should be able to:
1. Develop the skill to identify weaknesses in public speaking.
2. Suggest peer development that would address a reduction of the speech weaknesses
by practicing.
3. Recognize the requisites in speaking such as practice and delivery
4. Practice speaking in public by mock hosting and exposure
5. Develop the components of effective delivery to achieve speech competency.

2. Development of the Lesson
a. With the given examples, the students will,
Distinguish the difference among the practices involved in public
speaking.
Recognize the components of effective delivery.
Maintain Eye-contact that will increase their concentration towards the
discussion.
Determine the purposeful movements that may vary to enhance public
speaking.
Realize the significance of the voice and its elements to ensure speaking
competency.
b. Using the format below, the students will:
Demonstrate the requisites in attaining an effective speech.
Establish rapport with their audience considering the efficacy of the
components of delivery.

3. Valuation: Public speaking is way too important to be disregarded due to the ongoing
demands in education and corporate world. Speaking effectively will not only achieve
primacy but also inculcate agreeable results that will cultivate a peaceful environment
which Saint Columban College practices.
4. Generalization

 Practice requires more than repeating the presentation over and over again. Paying
attention to the five points of the performance will contribute a lot not only to the
speakers pronunciation but also to his/her performance. Constant practice and
delivery will acquaint speakers to use the voice and body to communicate the
message of the speech and it is more likely what the audience sees and hears.

Pair Work

Choose a topic for your three (3) minutes conversation, use the necessary components of
effective delivery to help you achieve a competent result.

D. Assignment:

With your chosen pair, you have to interview one anothers views about the issues and
situations that the Filipinos are experiencing right now, use any recording device to
record your output.
