MS2-1500

Thank you very much for choosing a portable suction

unit, Minic S-II.
Read this manual well before using this unit so that you
can use it correctly. After reading it, keep it near you to
read it any time whenever necessary.
Main Features
Lightweight and compact, it is easier to carry as a portable suction unit.
A wide range of suction from a low-pressured suction to a high-pres-
sured suction is provided.
Equipped with the piston pump enabling a high suction vacuum and a
high low rate.
Equipped with the suction stop float valve, suctioning will stop auto-
matically when secretion suctioned becomes full in the suction bottle.
Equipped with the filter inside the cushion for the bottle cover, which is
hard for secretion such as mist like moisture to infiltrate into the pump.
Different sizes of the inlet adapter are used in the patient connection
side and in the suction unit side, eliminating the accidental misconnec-
tion to the bottle cover.
Equipped with the catheter holder made from resign for putting a cath-
eter or a patient tube in it, and with a hook groove to fix the patient-
tube. (It is used when stopping suctioning temporarily.)
As an optional accessory, a filter is prepared whose material is PTFE
(polytetrafluoroethylene), which is hard for secretion such as mist like
moisture to pass through to prevent bacteria pollution. (Refer to 37nd
page.)
Equipped with the exhaust filter, which does not release the stained air
as is.
Equipped with the Patient Tube Connection Port complying with the
ISO standard, the inner diameter of which is 6 mm, enabling the
smooth aspiration with less clogging.
The power cord is wound up inside the unit when the storage facilitat -
ing transportation.
Six hours of continuous operation is possible.

MS2-1400
The suction bottle is made from polycarbonate resin strong against
shock and its mouth is large about 11 cm. In addition, since the detach-
able button and the handle can make you pour out suction things easily
and they are easy to handle.

4 Although suctioning will stop automatically when secretion suctioned

becomes full in the suction bottle, pour out secretion as early as pos-
sible before the bottle becomes full.

5 Even if secretion is suctioned from the suction bottle to the pump

side, this equipment is still designed to store the secretion suctioned
in the cushion of the bottle cover. However, replace the cushion if
secretion is suctioned in the cushion. Be careful that secretion should
not remain in the cushion. (Use the cushion always in an empty state.)
15
PROPER HANDLING

About the float in the section bottle

The more secretion in the suction bottle, the float will rise along
with the volume of the secretion until the float activates the float
stopper (the suction stop float valve). When the suction stop float
valve is activated, it reduces the infiltration of secretion to the
suction pump.
If the float stopper does not work, the float remains rose in the top
of the suction bottle. In such a case, open the bottle cover and make
sure that the float can move up and down.

CAUTION Since the suction unit is suctioning continuously

the misted secretion in its suction piping and pump,
suction pressure and suction flow rate are affected
with its operating frequency. Be sure to have the unit
inspected by qualified repairers periodically. (It is
charged).

3. About Scheduled Inspection
In order to prevent sudden accidents and use this product in safety, the
scheduled inspection every 2 years by the manufacturer or the repair
contractor and overhaul every 5 years are required. In scheduled inspec-
tion, perform function and performance test in addition to replacement of
consumables such as rubber products.
On the structure of the unit, the longer the hours worked become, the
more the degeneration of parts progress. And also accumulations of dust,
mist suctioned and the like have progressed. It becomes difficult for the
unit to keep the ability by only performing the periodical inspection over
a certain period of time. The overhaul with the parts replacements for
new ones and a very thorough examination is essential to returning the
unit to the ability as it was. (The scheduled inspection is charged sepa-
rately.)

ABOUT OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

1. Installation of PTFE Suction Filter

Caution
1. The PTFE suction filter degenerates gradually as the mist of the
secretion adheres to the filter, causing clogging. The effect of suc-
tion filter will be down in a month or so. Replace the PTFE suction
filter with a new one when the suction power becomes weak and it
seems that the filter clogs.
2. If secretion is suctioned into the PTFE suction filter, the PTFE suc-
tion filter will be clogged even at one time, and it may not be able
to suction any more.
3. When the suction power becomes weak due to leakage from the
inlet adapter, check the O-ring, and replace it when necessary.
4. This filter cannot be reused even it is sterilized. Replace it with a
new one.
5. The life of the filter depends on the frequency of use, properties of
secretion and chemicals for disinfection used.
6. It is recommended to prepare spare filters all the time to enable re-
placement of the filter with a new spare filter when the suction
power becomes weak and it seems that the filter clogs.
