NEW PERSPECTIVE TO SECURITY

Delivering The Leading Mobile

Tethered Hovering Platform In
The World

1
Overview

The System is a tethered hovering

machine and is exceptional in its high
size-to-payload ratio with almost
unlimited operation time
The System facilitates clear, real-time,
over-the-hill surveillance, remaining
stable in adverse weather conditions
The System is designed for field
operation (simple logistics, automatic
processes etc.)

2
3
System Applications

Border control
Port security
Federal and local law enforcement
Anti-terror activities
Critical infrastructure protection
Mega event protection and crowd control
Special forces, infantry and naval operations
Urban warfare
Battle information fusion

4
Overview Block Diagram

The System is composed of the following main sub-systems:

Aerial Unit (AU) with payload
Base Unit (BU) with System and Payload HMI
Generator Power Supply

PEB Winch System and

Payload HMI

5
System General Operation

The system goes through power on procedure, including payload

power sequence, system internal test and generator power on
When the system is ready, take-off is performed in a semi-
automatic mode controlled by the height leveler
Once system is airborne at the desired height, payload can be
operated as required by the operator
Landing is also a semi-automatic process controlled by the height
leveler
System can than be powered off, going through the procedure
including generator power off

9
Base Unit

The Base Unit includes all the sub-systems and indicators essential
for System operation.
The Base Unit serves as:
A container and a deployment - landing platform for the Aerial
Unit
Provider of uninterrupted power supply and communication
with the Aerial Unit

10
Base Unit

BU GPS Antennas

Base Unit General Description

# Designation Function
1 Cover Base Unit covers
2 Aerial Unit Airborne electro-mechanical hovering platform
3 Payload (Camera) Contains EO/IR/FLIR cameras and wireless communication devices
4 PEB (Power Electric Box) Enclosure with complex electronics and power distribution units
5 Arranger and Tension Unit Push the Main Cable and arrange it on the Winchs drum
6 Winch Unit Rolls and unrolls the Main Cable
7 Arranger and Tension Unit Controller Control the Arranger and Tension Unit
8 Takeoff and Landing Platform Serves as the Aerial Units takeoff and landing surface

11
12
Aerial Unit

The Aerial Unit is an airborne electro-mechanical hovering platform

that can carry a variety of stabilized payloads
The Aerial Unit is constantly connected to the Base Unit by the Main
Cable.
Power and communication are transferred through the main cable
uninterrupted AU GPS Antennas

13
Aerial Unit Overview

Aerial Unit Description

# Designation Function
1 Propeller Drives the winch drum.
2 Main Duct Belt driving the drum by the winch motor.
3 Payload Interface Interface of the Payload with the Aerial Unit
4 Payload (Camera) EO/IR/ cameras and Laser pointer
5 Main Cable Transfer power & data between AU and BU
6 Motor Provide the thrust for AU lift
7 GNSS Antenna Coordinates the AU with the BU

14
GNSS Unit and Antennas

GNSS is used to measure and monitor the position of the Aerial

Unit in relation to the Base Unit
The GNSS is DGPS (Differential GPS) type implementing RTK
technique to obtain precise object's orientation and position
measurements
Both AU and BU contains GNSS Unit and two antennas

15
HMI - Human Machine Interface

The System is operated by the

System HMI and Payload HMI, both
mounted inside the vehicle
The System HMI controls the
System power sequence and the AU
control
The Payload HMI displays and
controls the Payload video, gimbals
line of sight and data.
It also serves as the technician tool

16
System HMI Functions and Interface

Power on and off control

AU height control by up / down lever
Offset control, to rotate the AU if required
AU height display
System states, status, fuel level, wind and
alarms

17 Confidential
Payload HMI Functions and Interface

Payload video display and technician application (as in the picture)

HMI controls
Top will be used to operate the system instead of System HMI
Right side LOS control, day / night sensor selection, graphics
display selection, video recording, FLIR AGC & polarity
Left side Focus and Zoom
control, Auto focus, tracker
control

18 Confidential
Payloads

The System supports various

Payloads configurations which are
selected according to the Users
requirements
The Camera provides in-flight
enclosure for stabilized dual EO/IR
high resolution video
The Communication Datalink
transmits the video and data to
remote users via wireless network

19
Power Supply

The power supply sub-system contains the

Diesel Generator with a remote interface
controller IS10
The Generator enables continuous
operation of the System
For maintenance activities, a Generator
Emulator powered by wall inlet may be
connected to the system instead of the
generator

20
