Financial Assistance for Admissions 2017

The University offers financial assistance as per its availability from its own resources in the
name of a fellowship/Scholarship as follows:

1. B.Tech. Programme:

To become eligible for the continuance of the fellowship in subsequent years, the
students are required:
(a) To have earned Minimum SPI of 8 in the 1st Semester, and also of 8.5 in every
subsequent semester.
(b) To have passed every semester examination at the first attempt besides regular
attendance, disciplined and exemplary behavior and compliance with all other
norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time.

Merit cum Means Scholarship: 50% of the total Tuition Fees from the 2nd Academic
year.

1. The basic eligibility criteria may be the Total Annual Income (from all Sources) of
the students family should not be exceeding Rs. 6.00 Lacs.
2. Students seeking such scholarships will have to apply after their 1st Years results in
a Prescribed Form wherein authentic information about the family income and other
relevant information shall have to be furnished. The merit list will be based on the
result of B.Tech first year and further the continuation of the scholarship in
subsequent 3rd and 4th year shall subject to minimum 6.5 CPI at the first attempt in

the previous year, besides fulfillment of other norms. e.g. regular attendance,
disciplined and exemplary behavior.
3. The scholarship will be 50% of the total Tuition Fees from the 2nd Academic Year.
4. A list of qualifying applicants shall be arranged in the ascending order of their merit.
The Scholarship Committee, keeping in view relative merits, will decide award of
scholarships to top SEVEN (7) meritorious students in each branch of B. Tech.
5. A student is liable to lose his/her scholarship from the next Semester/year if he/she
fails to satisfy any of the specified criteria, in such case/s there shall not be any
replacement of the student/s for the scholarship during the entire duration of the
programme. A student failing to qualify for the scholarship in any
semester/year during the program shall not be entitled for the award of Scholarship
thereafter.
6. Scholarship will be withdrawn at any stage, if the information furnished are found to
be false and/or it is found at a later date that the student was involved in untoward
incident inside/outside the campus at any time during his/her stay at the University.

Diploma to Degree Engg. Lateral Entry: Half tuition fee waiver, subject to other norms.

2. M.Tech. Programme:

For students admitted in Phase I only: Rs. 12,400/- p.m. as a fellowship.

Students as a part of this fellowship which will be effective from the start of the semester,
such students shall have to undertake 8 to 10 hours per week towards academic /
administrative workload as assigned by the University. No additional teaching
compensation/financial assistance in this regard shall be permissible.

To become eligible for the continuance of any one of above mentioned financial
assistance, the respective student is required 1. To have earned Minimum CPI of 6.5 in
every semesters. 2. To have passed every semester examinations at the first attempt
besides regular attendance, disciplined and exemplary behavior and compliance with
other norms, as prescribed by the University from time to time. Such students must not
be getting any kind of financial assistance/support e.g. fellowship/scholarship/fee waiver
etc. from any source.

3. Ph.D. Programme:

I. The University offers financial assistance from its own resources as per its availability in
the name of fellowship, who would qualify as per the norms specified below on merit
basis as follows:
Up to first two years: Rs.25,000/- per month as research fellowship
In the third year: Rs.30,000/- per month as research fellowship

Continuance of the fellowship shall subject to punctuality, discipline, good


academic/research progress & compliance to other norms as prescribed by the University
from time to time.

By the end of every semester the Doctoral Committee also will also review & recommend
on continuance of the fellowship to the respective students.

After third year, the fellowship may continue subject to the semester wise review scrutiny
by the Doctoral Committee, but not beyond the fourth year.

It shall be mandatory to perform the duties as Teaching Assistant for all the full time
candidates availing the fellowship.

Hostel stay is compulsory for the students availing Financial Assistance from the
University

The candidates admitted to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the research areas of
Sciences and areas under School of Liberal Studies may be granted the fellowships as
mentioned above on merit basis provided they have a valid UGC NET/CSIR-UGC
NET/SLET score at the time of the admission tests.

M.E. / M.Tech. qualified candidates admitted to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the
research areas of Engg. & Technology may be granted the fellowships as mentioned
above on merit basis.

M. Sc. (Tech.) in GeoScience (3 year full time programme) qualified candidates admitted
to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the research areas of Engg. & Technology may be
granted the fellowships as mentioned on merit basis.

The candidates admitted to pursue Ph. D. on full time basis in the research areas of
Management may be granted the fellowships as mentioned above on merit basis provided
they have valid CAT score with a minimum of 60 percentile at the time of the admission
tests.

No other Financial Assistance/Aid will be given to all such students.

The continuance of the Research fellowship shall be subjected to the six monthly
academic review, discipline and punctuality of the candidate.

The above policy-procedure is subject to modification whenever found necessary by the


University.

II. A financial assistance in the form of a Teaching Assistanceship on merit basis is also
available for the students who would not be receiving above referred financial assistance:
Rs.10,000/- per month
It may be continued for 3 years on satisfactory performance based on overall review from
semester to semester. During these 03 years such students may be given financial
incentive of Rs. 2,000/- per publication in approved peer reviewed journals.

Contingency allowance of maximum Rs. 10,000/- per year as per the norms.

No other Financial Assistance/Aid will be given to all such students.

The continuance of the Research fellowship shall be subjected to the six monthly
academic review, discipline and punctuality of the candidate.

The above policy-procedure is subject to modification whenever found necessary by the


University.
