ITS BOOKING SYSTEM

The Challenge
Bharat Gas from BPCL has one of the largest LPG markets in India with over 50 million
customers. But every time customers had to do a gas rell booking, they had to do it
through LPG distributors. However, for such a large base of tech-savvy customers, this
was not an optimum solution. Bharat Gas wanted to implement a solution that would
not only have minimal manual intervention but will also be scalable.

Airtels Solution
Airtel created a 24x7 IVR and SMS based booking platform that was implemented
across 4600 distributors throughout the country. The system was implemented in 3
languages: English, Hindi and specic regional languages for specic locations, to
ensure it could handle the diversity of BPCLs customer base. A customer now had to
simply dial a 10-digit number and follow the IVR instructions to conrm their booking.
Instant SMS notications, enabled by a DigiMATE platform, conrmed their booking
details, making the entire experience simpler and smoother.

Business Impact
Airtels solution made the booking experience for the end consumer simpler and much
faster. Delivery time was reduced signicantly. Customer experience was enriched, as
booking an order was now a simple process which required no manual intervention.
