INTRODUCTION

I Heart disease are the highest contributors to the mortality

rate in India.
I Specifically speaking, Ischemic heart disease patients
forms the majority in this statistics.
I Timely and accurate detection such disease in most cases
can save life.
I Fortunately, the presence of such disease gets reflected in
ECG by producing abnormalities in its morphological
structure.
PROBLEM

I Mini Project Analysis of ECG signal-Filtering-Detection

of various peaks,segments,intervals.

I Thesis ST segment detection and Classification of

Ischemic heart disease.

ECG ANALYSIS

ECG Analysis is perfromed in three stages

1. Noise Filtering.
2. Wave Detection.
3. Abnormality Determination.
I Noise Filtering:
Various noise present ECG includes:
I Power Line Noise.[50Hz,60Hz].
I Baseline Fluctuation.[Typically less than 1Hz].
I Inclusion of Muscle Potential.

WAVE DETECTION

I Clinically useful information in the ECG is found in the

intervals and amplitudes defined by its significant points
(characteristic wave peaks and boundaries)
I Development of accurate and robust methods for automatic
ECG delineation is a subject of major importance
I Algorithm used in this domain can be classified as;
1. QRS detection algorithm
2. Wave delineation algorithm.

CONCLUSION

I Goal Obtain refined morphological structure of ECG by

removing noise.
I Goal Facilitate better interpretation of heart from the
ECG signal.
