Mounting
ConveyorBeltScraper
Mounting position
The alignment of the scraper is dependent on the transported material and its
further usage.
Shall the scraped product remain in the production flow and be taken along,
orientate yourself to mounting position 1.
Shall the scraped product be separated from the main flow, choose position 2 or
position 3.

Fig.2

Pos. 1

Pos. 2
Pos. 3

The quality of the scraping performance is independent from the

mounting position. The contact point of scraper and roll is
preferably between 7 and 9 oclock. This position also facilitates
the accessability for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

Mounting
ConveyorBeltScraper
1. Preparation of the belt body for mounting

View the belt construction and check if the scraper can be

assembled without additional components.
components This is visible on fig.fig 3.
Is the present situation like fig. 4, a mounting facility for the scraper
is required.

2. Preparation of the scraper for mounting

At first, measure the inner distance of the plates (fig. 6 ).

Fig.6

Intermediate size B

As a next step, take the scraper with the axle tube (part 1 ), the
torsion spring (part 2 ) as well as the eccentric counter bearing
(part 3 ) and assemble the components into one package, like in
fig. 7.

Now deduct the inner plate distance B from the base size L.
The axle tube must be shortened by this amount.

Fig.9

Attention
Shall the scraper be placed centered, the axle tube is to be
shortened at both ends by half of the amount. Is the
placement eccentrical,, the ends need to be shortened
p
respectively.

Shorten the axle tube according to the markings you made and deburr
the cut surfaces.

3. Mounting of the scraper

Before mounting the torsion spring, the position of the hand
lever (fig. 10 ) must be set. Whether the lever is being mounted
on the left or on the right hand side
side, depends on the
accessibility for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

Fig.10

The mounting position has no effect on

the scrapers function!

a. Scraper type series L and M

Attention!
Firstly,
y, clean the axle tube ((inside)) and
the torsion spring in order to ensure a
completely fat-free surface before the
installation.

Now put the torsion spring into the axle tube and stand
the scraper on a rigid board, with the torsion spring at
the bottom. Then slide the clamp screw with the two
guide rings from upside into the axle tube (fig. 11). With
a pipe wrench you move the screw into the axle tube,
until it lies on the torsion spring.

4. Insertion of the fixing holes
Fig.12

Hold the scraper into the prearranged mounting position like in

fig. 12, and mark the positions of the fixing holes on the
mounting plates. Draw attention to the fact that there needs to
be a space between the relief grinding of the mounted scraper
and the belt surface (fig. 13).

Mounting
ConveyorBeltScraper
Assemble the scraper according to fig. 15 and and tighten the screws
slightly.

Fig.15

Check if the scraper lies fully against the belt surface. If the markings
or the holes have not been made parallel (see fig. 16 ), the scraper
might not fully lie against the belt surface. This will effect the scraping
performance.
