Sovereign Health Leads the Industry in Measurement-Based Care
Independent report affirms efficacy of firms treatment programs

San Clemente, Calif. According to a recent quarterly report by Harvard Medical School
Affiliate McLean Hospital, Sovereign Healths Residential and Partial Hospitalization Program
patients had marked improvements in their treatment outcomes from admission to discharge,.
Sovereigns patients self-reported that their overall functional deficits and symptom severity had
decreased by over 50 percent because of treatment.
McLean Hospitals independent Quarter 4 report, which covered October through December 2016,
indicated that Sovereigns Residential Program admitted much sicker patients than other treatment
centers did over the same three-month period, and that participants in the program achieved a 52
percent reduction in overall symptom severity and functional difficulty from admission to
discharge. The national average for the same domain, per the report, was 37 percent.
Sovereign Health received outstanding scores in all symptom domains, outperforming 50 other
Joint Commission-accredited treatment networks. In addition, the data showed that Sovereigns
performance was especially impressive regarding treatment outcomes surrounding patients
overall mental health and well-being.
The recent results confirm a consistent track record of superior clinical care provided by Sovereign
Health. McLeans Quarter 3 report (covering July through September 2016) also detailed that
patients treated by Sovereign experienced marked improvement in their symptoms and functional
deficits from admission to discharge.

We continuously monitor and evaluate our services and clinical outcomes. I am delighted to see
that these data validate Sovereigns commitment to providing the highest quality clinical care to
patients with mental health and substance use disorders, said Sovereign Healths Chief Scientific
Officer Veena Kumari, Ph.D.
The Joint Commission is the nations leading health care standards-setting and accrediting
organization. Sovereign has qualified for the Joint Commissions Gold Seal of Approval for
several years. The companys extensive national network of nine facilities across five states also
enjoys the distinction of being accredited to provide concurrent mental health and substance use
treatment, a rarity in the field.

From the outset, Sovereign Health has fashioned its treatment programs to deliver high-quality
care for substance use and behavioral health issues; the company has always based its treatment
plans on measurement-based care to ensure clinical efficacy and the best outcomes for all patients.
Measurement-based care is the practice of periodically monitoring clinical progress and obtaining
patient feedback on specific measures to improve the quality and effectiveness of treatment, and
to deliver care that is tailor-made to meet each patients individual needs.
The two independent quarterly reports from McLean Hospital confirm that Sovereign Health
provides a higher quality of patient care relative to the care provided by 50 other Joint
Commission-accredited organizations across the country and confirms that Sovereign is meeting
its commitment to provide cutting-edge and comprehensive treatment to every patient that passes
through its doors.
