Dear Sir/Madame,

My name is Riham, and I would appreciate your consideration for this job opening given my related
experience and capabilities. My skills are an ideal match for this position. Humanitarian Aid work is
my passion, and my previous experience working with vulnerable children, youth, women and my
strong knowledge in humanitarian standards and humanitarian aid work, encouraged me to apply
for the position. I have a broad experience as I have been working within many different sectors
such as protection, basic needs, and WASH.
I have a suitable experience as I have been working with GOs and NGOs for more than four years. As
mentioned in my CV I worked for the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) responsible
for infrastructure, as well as water and sanitation in Za'atari Camp. I was in charge of the activities in
the camp and to to assist the head of mission, attending the meetings of UNICEF and report to HQ in
Germany. Furthermore I was responsible for tracking water, filling the forms received from Za'atari
Camp, providing Administrative Support, and being the focal point between THW and other
organizations. After THW I got the chance to work at MEDAIR (Swiss Organization for Emergency)
where I was working with the Cash Assistance Projects providing cash to Syrian refugees and
vulnerable Jordanian households. The work included collecting data, updating the beneficiary data
base, vulnerability assessments and to be responsible for the distribution. During the work we also
made sure to provide legal aid to housholds in need. Later on I was working for IRC as a Cash
Assistance Program Officer, which gave me the opportunity to further develop my skills. I worked
closely with the Women and Empowerment team, held trainings in GBV and gave lectures about
GBV to Syrian women. Furthermore I was leading the cash distributions in Irbid and Mafraq
Governorates. Since then I have had the opportunity to work at LWF and at IOM providing different
assistance to vulnerable families. I left IOM as my husband accepted an offer at an NGO in Greece,
and am thus currently living in Thessaloniki. I have a Jordanian passport, but have received a one
year residency permit in Greece (which allows a work permit) until I receive the five years residency.

I am confident that I would be a strong asset for your organization due to my long experience
working with vulnerable women and children (including SGBV and GBV cases) in addition to my
Arabic language skills, interpersonal skills and understandance of the culture. Furthermore I have
strong knowledge of SOPs related to GBV and Child Protection, Protection referral systems, data-
collection and project implementation in accordance to a proposal. As for leadership I have
supervised up to 20 staff and volunteers while providing technical support and trainings (including
GBV trainings). I appreciate that you are going through my CV as it will provide you with further
information about my earlier experiences and abilities. Looking forward to meet you for an
interview.

Sincerely,
Riham Salman
