Unit Summary:
Its important for students to understand the relationship and the functions of the three branches of government. We will examine the process of lawmaking, and use the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 as an example. We will look at the events and court cases that led up to the Act, and the process that it underwent to become a law. After looking at
the Civil Rights Act we will look deeper into the lawmaking process and the role of each branch of government.
