The right solution

Your design

We deliver our measuring instruments just as you require.

Cases and dials, scales, cables, sealings and much more can
be manufactured with your logo or to the design you wish. We
can also provide you with complete technical documentation in
your design, with your model designation and corresponding
packaging.

Indicating transmitting switching

In some cases, not only analogue output signals, such as

4 20 mA, are necessary for a PLC, but also additional
signals which can switch a load directly. For these applications,
intelliGAUGEs (pressure gauges with an integrated transmitter)
are available, into which additional switch contacts for the direct
switching of higher loads can also be integrated.

Special applications

Example medical engineering

Pressure monitoring in medical engineering covers a multitude
of applications; ranging from treating patients with anaesthetic
gases or special gas mixtures, to gaseous disinfectants for sterility
and hygiene, to the provision of specific pressure conditions for
surgery. Here, special instrument designs are used, which are
suitable for operation with oxygen.

Innovative partner for OEM applications

With our high-tech production lines and technical experts, WIKA is

perfectly equipped for the requirements of the OEM market.
Our standard product range includes products that can be used
in numerous ways. Individually tailored advice and proposals, to
match solutions to your needs, supplement our extensive offering
of products and services.

The most common way to measure flow is differential-pressure When the process requires a pressure drop, a restriction orifice

acceptable noise level.

Pressure drop
When using a differential pressure flow meter a permanent
pressure drop is always generated. The graph shows a
comparison between the different types of differential
pressure flow measurement instruments. Pressure loss is
shown as a percentage of the measured differential pressure.

The graph can assist in the selection of the best instrument for your application.

A flow nozzle consists of a convergent section with a rounded

FloTec (averaging pitot tubes)

Flotec (a multi-port, averaging pitot flow meter) measures the Vortex shedding frequency
difference between the static pressure and the dynamic pressure Depending on the inner diameter, the medium characteristics and
of the media in the pipe. The volumetric flow is calculated from that the Reynolds number, a vortex will be generated around the pitot

Restriction orifices

When a reduction of pressure or a limitation of the flow rate is

required, a restriction orifice must be inserted into the pipeline.
Our technical department will produce the correct design for the
restriction orifice, depending on customer requirements and flow
conditions.

If high differential pressures, a change in phase or sonic issues

can occur, a more-complex design will be required. The solution
in these cases is to decrease the differential pressure in several
steps, avoiding all the issues created by these factors.
This solution is called multi-step restriction orifice.

An air data test set is a an electronic controller which, based

on a supply pressure, automatically provides a pressure at a CPA8001
variable and adjustable rate
Air data test set
Air data test sets are specifically developed to convert the pressure
to be controlled into a height or rate of climb and velocity.
As a result of the high accuracy, control stability and ability to simulate
altitude and velocity, an air data test set is particularly suitable as a
reference for aircraft workshops and also for instrument manufac-
