[Executive Summary]

SwifTank Systems, proprietorship firm engaged in providing water tank cleaning


and repairs services to residential and commercial buildings in western Bombay,
India. Since its inception in 2003, we have established reputation for providing
timely reliable services to more than 5000 clients including government and semi
government organizations, hotels, schools, hospitals, commercial complexes and
residential buildings. In this annual business plan, SwifTank Systems attempts to
layout a road map to capitalizing on growth opportunities while maximizing
efficiency, with a view of long term growth through franchising.

SwifTank Systems shall invest in 2 more cleaning units to expand its


servicing capacity to match the forecasted growth due to customer loyalty earned
over past 7 years.

SwifTank Systems has a unique advantage in the area of water proofing of


RCC tanks due to its market position and reach. By promoting awareness of this
issue to its existing tank cleaning customers, we have achieved significant results
and now plan to drive the growth strategically.

We have also identified drawbacks of using the high pressure machines for
the cleaning of water tanks. In the long term we plan to develop a mechanised
unit of tools and machinery required in order to bridge these gaps and thereby
having a unique advantage over competitors. The ultimate long term plan is to
capitalize on the huge untapped potential of the Bombay Market via expansion
through franchising and duplicating our success.

With the modernization and growth in the economy, Indian small


businesses have thrived leaps and bounds in the last decade. The service industry
has been at the all time high in terms of demand as well as growth. The Water
Tank cleaning and Repair Maintenance, is one of the small service businesses that
has shaped well due to this growth.
At the time of creation of SwifTank Systems in 2003, the view of consumers
towards tank cleaning was a major barrier to growth. The consumers had very
limited awareness of the regular cleaning of water tanks. The tanks were cleaned
manually by hiring roadside labour for few hundred rupees. There were very few
service providers and the cost of professional services was 4 to 5 times as
compared to the manual option. Residential buildings would not recognise the
need for a contracting professional services while commercial buildings would
manage this task in-house. The awareness of the consumers regarding the need
of professional service and regular timely cleaning was slowly starting to rise.

While some of the above conditions still persist the overall picture has
largely transformed. Within last 7 years the consumers have realised the necessity
of professional service and regular timely cleaning. More and more consumers
seek professional services for cleaning their water tanks on regular basis.
SwifTank Systems is the single largest market player in Bombay with a loyal
customer base of over 5000 entities.

Bombay city has demonstrated steady growth trend in population and


thereby construction in last 75 to 100 years. And it still continues to grow every
year. The methods and materials used to construct and maintain water tanks for
buildings have seen many changes. In the early 50’s, the water tanks were
constructed in Mild steel. Which the boom in the city growth and construction
industry in mid 70’s the steel tanks were outdated and RCC tanks were being
constructed. Around late 80’s, plastic tanks were introduced. However the
preferred method till date is RCC tanks due their longer lifecycle and easier and
lower maintenance issues as compared to other two methods.

Water Tank Cleaning Service
The Cleaning Process

A right combination of “high pressure water jet” and “bio-film & scale
removing special detergents” assuring the results required are used. The ceiling is
cleaned thoroughly which is completely left out when cleaned manually.

With our special sludge suction attachment, pumping out the every last bit
of sludge and muddy water is a matter of minutes. Which otherwise is done with
buckets, pan and mop and leads to slow and ineffective job.

Sanitizing - Our specially developed anti bacterial formula, is put to work to


fight out the bacteria and other harmful microorganisms.

Whatever dust, sand and dirt particles are left behind are finally cleaned
with a heavy duty industrial vacuum cleaners, leaving behind a smooth and
absolutely clean water tank.

Finally Ultra Violet Irradiators are then suspended in the tank to take care
of any suspended harmful microorganisms or bacteria.
