Dari 6,9 juta tenaga kerja konstruksi Indonesia, kurang dari 10%
berkualifikasi ahli dan 30% terampil. Hanya 380.000 yang
bersertifikat. Insinyur Indonesia pemegang ACPE baru 296 orang,
dengan rentang usia umumnya di atas 50 tahun.

Menghadapi Masyarakat Ekonomi Asean (MEA) Indonesia fokus dalam pembangunan
infrastruktur dan konstruksi, antara lain jalan baru 2.350 km, jalan tol 1.000 m,
pemeliharaan jalan 46.770 km, pembangunan dan peningkatan jaringan irigasi seluas
37 ribu ha, pembangunan lanjutan 2 waduk, dan 9 waduk baru.
