BAPTISM THE ROAD TO THE KINGDOM.

First Bible Lesson: John Chapter 3 verse 3

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Second Bible Lesson: Matthew Chapter 3 verse 6
"And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins."
Golden Text: Acts Chapter 19 verse 4
"Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unt
o the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that
is, on Christ Jesus."
Brethren, that is the theme of our revelation this morning. A great many people
do not know the difference between the baptism of John and the baptism of Our Lo
rd Jesus Christ. And baptism is an institution, which has confused so many peopl
e in the world. It is the first problem, which has beset all the inhabitants of
the world.
The Baptism Of John The Baptist:
A great many churches do not know what is called baptism. If you do not repent,
how can you believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ? And if you do not believe in Our L
ord Jesus Christ, how can you enter into the Kingdom of God. That is the problem
besetting all the church denominations, prayer houses, service centers, and the
whole world.
When you are told to love one another, you will argue, you have indeed practiced
the Word of God by loving one another, by being generous and kind to the poor.
But I must tell you, you have not yet practiced the Word of God. So many people
also say, the instruction of God is, you should help any person who has problems
; and that indeed they have done, because they have been helping members of thei
r families; and many people are indebted to them. And because of that they claim
to have done the work of God.
We Learn From Simple To Complex:
All that was written in the Bible are but the truth and worthy of acceptance. Al
l those who followed Our Lord Jesus Christ were those who were baptized of the b
aptism of John.
How can you begin to cut down the overgrowth when you have not yet cut down the
undergrowth. The first thing you have to do while clearing a bush is to clear wh
at is below before you clear what is on top. After clearing the undergrowth, you
will be in a better position to clear the overgrowth. And if you set fire to it
, it will burn to your satisfaction. If you have not cut down the undergrowth bu
t simply cut down the overgrowth and then set fire into it, the fire will immedi
ately be extinguished. Exactly the same thing will happen if you have not cleare
d both the ground and the overgrowth but set fire to it. It is an unprofitable v
enture.
Little Things Matter:
It is exactly what is obtaining now in the schools. If you do not start your edu
cation right from the elementary one in primary school and go through the six cl
asses then into Secondary, and finally into the University for your degree and p
ost graduate programs, how can you be a good teacher? Right now people stay in t
heir houses to read, and then go to take the six elementary examinations without
going to school. They also stay at home to read, take and pass the General Cert
ificate of Education, (G C E), Examination. After that, they will go into the Un
iversity. When you graduate from the University and you are posted to teach at a
school, what subject will you teach? You have never attended a Secondary School
, and you are not familiar with its curriculum, syllabuses and the activities in
a Secondary School. How then will you be sound in your teaching? It is exactly
what takes place in the police force. In earlier times, when one was recruited,
he would remain a private or constable receiving lessons and carrying out duty u
ntil he is promoted a Corporal. From the Corporal you will be promoted to the ne
xt rank of a Sergeant, then Assistant Superintendent of police, and through othe
r ranks being promoted to the rank of Inspector General of Police. Your promotio
n will be from one rank to the other. You will also know your dealings one with
the other.
But what obtains today is, as soon as you graduate from the University you are m
ade the Deputy Commissioner or the Commissioner of Police. What lessons will you
impart to those who are under you and what duties will you perform? These are t
he things which have beset the world.
Experience Is The Best Teacher:
A similar thing will happen if you are employed in an Agricultural Estate; wheth
er it is oil palm, rubber or cocoa. If you do not start as a laborer in the fiel
d, then get promoted a foreman, and finally a manager, you will be found wanting
in your duties. If you are made the manager on the grounds, you have been to a
University and have obtained a Ph.D. degree, what functions will you perform, ev
en if you studied Agriculture as a discipline.
That is what has caused the confusion in the government. The government passes t
hrough the window into a house. That is the cause of the downfall of all the chu
rch denominations. They all pass through the window into the house. If you go to
a Bible College and after graduation you are ordained a Pastor or a Bishop, wha
t can you do? A great many Pastors and Reverends you find have only been ordaine
d after graduating from a Bible College and some have even been ordained Pastors
and Reverends after graduating in Accountancy, from what experience will they t
each or preach to their congregations?
Only Those Who Are Born Again Can Practice The Gospel:
Brethren, what did Our Lord Jesus Christ say? He said, "Except a man be born aga
in, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." If you do not forsake sins, how can you b
e born again. If you do not know those acts which constitute sin, how can you fo
rsake them? All the church denominations do not know those acts which are sinful
. They do not teach people what acts are sinful, or which you should forsake. Th
at is why the church denominations are empty and sin continues to spread like wi
ld fire throughout the world.
When you go to a church denomination you will be asked, "Do you believe in Our L
ord Jesus Christ?" If you reply, you believe in Him and that He is the Son of Go
d, you will be accepted as a member. The churches rely on their catechism. They
will also ask you, "How many Gods are in existence?" Once you reply, there is on
ly one God, you will be taken in.
Can The Blind Lead The Blind?
You are witnesses to the fact, the great number of Bishops, already consecrated
in the world, cannot practice even one word of God. It is both pathetic and sorr
owful, none of them can practice the Word of God. It is more beneficial to me if
a necromancer forsakes his juju and charms and then comes to me, than for a Bis
hop or a Pastor in a church. They will only come to cause confusion because they
will come infatuated with pride because of their degrees, but ignorant of the W
ord of God. The Bishop and Pastors have only read about Our Lord Jesus Christ in
books. And the writers who are purported to write religious books do so in igno
rance. All of them have passed through the window into the house. What lessons w
ill they impart to you. Consider the churches, what will they teach you?
Concepts And Practice Must Go Together:
Brotherhood is the Christ Universal Spiritual School of Practical Christianity w
here we must practice what we teach and so simulate what we teach. As you contin
ue to absorb the teachings and practice them, so will your eyes continue to open
. You can, therefore, start teaching to others because you are on the right path
. That is why right from Sunday to Sunday, each week and month, I continue to te
ach you one lesson per day, so that if you are questioned, you may be able to gi
ve an appropriate answer. You are taught to understand, one plus one is equal to
two; one plus two is equal to three, and two minus two is equal to zero. My tea
chings are perfect.
A great many of you have been hated in the church in which you were a member. Wh
en you ask a Pastor why certain things have been done wrongly, he will blame you
for coming to tempt him and also argue, you have disgraced him. You will theref
ore, be expelled from the church.
Only Those Who Believe And Are Baptized Can Perform Miracles And Healing:
Our Lord Jesus Christ says, whoever believes and is baptized shall be saved; but
whoever believes not shall be condemned. (Mark Chapter 16 verse 16). "And these
signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; th
ey shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink
any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and
they shall recover." (Mark Chapter 16 verses 17 and 18). Go and ask either the B
ishop or any other person why those signs have not followed them. They will only
accuse you for going to tempt them, and will regard you as an insolent member.
What the churches do now is to invite a member of Rosicrucian, Armorc or a membe
r of any secret society to come and perform healing for them. Members of the chu
rches claim to have been baptized and to believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Why a
re they not able to do these things? They rather invite necromancers, and member
s of "Ekpo" society to perform healing for them. Is it not a disgraceful and pit
iful thing for members of the various church denominations to invite people to h
eal them of their sicknesses? Yet they profess to have been baptized and to beli
eve in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Is it Our Lord Jesus Christ who is a liar or is it
the Church which is a liar?
Baptism Not Followed With Bestowal Of The Holy Spirit, Is Void:
When a person is told to come to Brotherhood he will argue, he would like to com
e to Brotherhood, but how will you expect a communicant of his calibre and one w
ho serves communion to be baptized twice. It is not expedient that man should be
baptized twice. That is yet another problem. The person will also argue, how ca
n someone who has founded many churches throughout the world, and who has preach
ed and baptized others be told to be baptized a second time? You profess to have
been baptized but why have those signs meant for those who believe and are bapt
ized, not followed you? That is the problem which has beset the inhabitants of t
he world. They want to pass through the window into the house.
The inhabitants of the world have forgotten, only primary schools were found at
first. If you passed the standard six examinations, you were qualified to do any
type of work in the world. In the course of time if you passed the Junior Cambr
idge (class IV), you were qualified to do any type of work anywhere in the world
. Later, if you passed the Cambridge examination, then you had to select the wor
k you wished to do. If you passed the matriculation examination, then you would
be regarded as a White man, as the Chief Executive, of any establishment. What i
s the situation today in the world? If you do not have a PhD, you will not be re
cognized as a professor.
Baptism Of Circumcision and Abraham:
So it is with God. The first Covenant of God enacted with man was baptism by cir
cumcision. That was the Covenant God entered into with Abraham. (See Genesis Cha
pter 17 verse 10).
This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after
thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. (Genesis Chapter 17 verse
10).
Now that a great many people say, they ought not to be baptized twice, do they n
ot know that circumcision is baptism? Circumcision is baptism, a covenant entere
d into with Abraham by God. God instructed, all male children born should be cir
cumcised. That is why there is none uncircumcised among the Israelites. The Gent
iles are those who are uncircumcised and are not regarded as children of God.
At the time of Abraham, if you were not circumcised, you were regarded as a paga
n. That is why when Jacob on his return journey home; they sojourned to the city
of the king of the prince; the prince who had defiled and impregnated his daugh
ter; and the king of that city pleaded with Jacob, and said, he was prepared to
accept any condition Jacob demanded. Jacob did not want any other thing except,
the man should be circumcised. All that Jacob demanded was, the King and his hou
sehold be baptized. The king then asked, whether that was all of the condition,
Jacob affirmed. The theme of the sermon then was that they "be circumcised." Any
person who was circumcised was in other words baptized. Now that people say, ba
ptism is never administered twice, I have to tell you, you can even be baptized
as many times as possible. At that time people knew not what was sinful. They di
d not know what was fornication. They knew nothing about confession of sins. The
covenant God entered into with Abraham was that every male child should be circ
umcised.
Baptism Of Purification and Sanctification, and Moses:
During the time of Moses another covenant was entered into with the people by Go
d. God enacted that all male children born of a woman must be surrendered to God
. The child would be taken before the altar for sanctification. (See Exodus Chap
ter 13 verse 2).
Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the childr
en of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine. (Exodus Chapter 13 verse 2).
At the time of Abraham, any child born was circumcised after eight days. At the
time of Moses, the child was to be taken to the altar for sanctification, after
eight days. That sanctification is the child blessing which we conduct today. Bo
th were forms of baptism. After circumcision one had to be taken to the altar fo
r sanctification. In accordance with Mosaic Law two turtle-doves or two pigeons
were offered as a sacrifice. That is what was preached about. A child had to be
taken to the altar for sanctification. When you argue, baptism should not be adm
inistered twice, what about the two forms of baptism, which Our Lord Jesus Chris
t underwent?
People argue, if a man is baptized twice he will die. But all of you have been c
ircumcised, taken to the altar for blessing; and baptized in water, have you die
d? When the Priesthood is changed, the law must of a necessity be changed. (Hebr
ews Chapter 7 verse 12).
Baptism Of Repentance and John:
Baptism by sanctification was preached everywhere until there came John the Bapt
ist. John was the first person to whom God revealed the baptism by immersion. (M
atthew Chapter 3 verse 6). The baptism of John was by immersion. It does not imp
ly, the baptism in the time of Abraham was not good. It does not also imply, the
baptism at the time of Moses was not good. But the baptism of John is that of w
ater and spirit, for he was the forerunner of Our Lord Jesus Christ. That is why
Our Lord Jesus Christ told Nicodemus, "Except a man be born again, he cannot en
ter into the Kingdom of God." (John Chapter 3 verse 3). Since God sent John spec
ifically for baptism of repentance, it is therefore a significant baptism.
You have to hammer an iron while it is hot. When it is cold, it is not easily ma
lleable. For God had said that Elijah shall come before the Messiah, in order to
make straight the path. (Malachi Chapter 4 verse 5, Luke Chapter 7 verse 27). T
he path referred to is not a road but the heart. Right from the beginning of the
world, no one has become truly repentant and no one has known what is sinful. A
braham did not know what was sinful. Jacob knew not. When God sends you He will
follow behind you.
That is why Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Among them that are born of women there
hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is leas
t in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." (Matthew Chapter 11 verse 11, Lu
ke Chapter 7 verse 28). Our Lord Jesus Christ remained on earth thirty years but
no one knew Him because of the sin which abounds on earth. For it is said, "Ble
ssed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." (Matthew Chapter 5 verse 8)
. How can you see God when your heart is not pure? It is quite impossible for yo
u to see God if you are not pure in heart. That is why it is said, "Except you a
re born again, you cannot enter into the Kingdom of God." (John Chapter 3 verses
3 and 5). If you do not forsake sins, confess and repent of your sins, and then
be baptized, how can you believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ?
Only The Pure In Heart Can See God:
It is said, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall
see the Lord." (Hebrews Chapter 12 verse 14). Every count must start from zero.
If you do not see a thing, how can you receive salvation. Right now, you are un
able to see Our Lord Jesus Christ because you have not forsaken sins, neither ha
ve you repented of your sins. If you live for a million years, as long as you do
not forsake sins and repent of them, you cannot see Him and then believe in Him
.
Peter and some of the disciples were formerly disciples of John. They were bapti
zed for repentance in order to make straight their path. They all confessed thei
r sins and then were baptized. They forsook their sins and that is why they saw
Our Lord Jesus Christ. John no more had disciples because His disciples repented
of their sins, confessed them and became baptized and so believed in Our Lord J
esus Christ. Realize they had already been circumcised. They had also been taken
before the altar for sanctification. Thirdly, they also received the baptism of
John. That is why they believed in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Brethren, let our fir
st lesson be read.
First Bible Lesson: John Chapter 3 verse 3
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man
be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Except You Are Reborn You Cannot See Christ:
That is to show you how the world is in a pitiful situation. Do you know Nicodem
us was a learned lawyer? He had all the laws about him but did he understand the
Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ? When he went to Our Lord Jesus Christ by night,
Our Lord Jesus Christ told him, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the
Kingdom of God." And so Nicodemus asked, "How can a man be born again when he is
old?" Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb? If he had started fr
om zero would he not have understood the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ? But sin
ce he had started by cutting down the overgrowth upon the undergrowth he could n
ot understand the Words of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
That is why everything in Brotherhood begins from zero. When you are told to pay
tithe or do any other thing, it is all secondary. The primary thing is for you
to repent and confess your sins and become baptized. That is why Our Lord Jesus
Christ told His disciples, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing th
em in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." (Matthew C
hapter 28 verse 19).
Repent And Be Saved:
How can you believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ when you have not yet repented of y
our own sins? When you tell a person, Our Lord Jesus Christ has come, how can th
e person see Him when he has not repented of his sins? When he has not made stra
ight his path, and then have a pure heart? You are only causing confusion by you
r preaching. The first thing is for you to tell someone to repent of his sins; t
o forsake fornication, lies, anger, stealing, hatred, indulgence in the preparat
ion of concoction and charms, sorcery, adultery; and confess his sins and be bap
tized. When that is done, the person will be able to see Our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is said, "whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." But
it is asked, "How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? a
nd how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they
hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?" (Roma
ns Chapter 10 verses 13 to 15). You can see, the Word of God is chain-like in na
ture. That is why it is said Rome was not built in a day.
Believe In Our Lord Jesus Christ So That You Can See Him:
Many of you have been in Brotherhood for more than twenty years, but up till tod
ay, have you believed in Our Lord Jesus Christ? You have been shouting only on "
Jesus" for the past fifteen years but up till today, have you seen Him? You cann
ot see Him because you have not yet repented of your sins. Mere shouting on His
Name is but making an empty sound. If you are not pure in heart; if you do not f
orsake sins: lies, stealing, indulgence in the preparation of concoction, charms
, and juju, anger and fornication, how will you be able to see Our Lord Jesus Ch
rist?
Do Not Put New Wine In An Old Bottle:
Each day, you will dress up in white and come to 34 Ambo Street. You are free to
come and sit down here. It is said, "No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto a
n old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, a
nd the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else th
e bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put
new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved." (Matthew Chapter 9 verses 16
and 17). You have to put a new wine into a new skin. The first thing you have t
o do is to repent; and confess all the sins you had committed right from your la
st generation and repent of them. For "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they s
hall see God." (Matthew Chapter 5 verse 8).
Our Lord Jesus Christ, Being God, Is Omnipresent:
Our Lord Jesus Christ is here with you. He is before you. He is here and there.
He is everywhere but have you seen Him? Is it not a surprising thing to hear the
world continue to say, "Until Jesus comes back?" I am always frightened at such
words because Our Lord Jesus Christ is here with us. Where has he ever gone to?
Those of you who have gone to Jerusalem have heard what the Israelites said. Th
ey said, Our Lord Jesus Christ has not yet come. They maintain, Elijah must firs
t descend as an angel to the ground, before Our Lord Jesus Christ comes. When yo
u went to Jerusalem, you were looked upon and regarded as demented fellows, and
confusionists. As you examined them, do they appear as people who know God?
Our Lord Jesus Christ spoke with the Samaritan woman. The woman said, "Our fathe
rs worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where
men ought to worship. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh,
when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Fathe
r." (John Chapter 4 verses 20 and 21). It is therefore, surprising to find Chris
tians going to Jerusalem. What are you going to do at Jerusalem? It is for that
same reason they have neither been baptized of their hearts nor of their ears. T
hey have not yet repented.
Be Holy As The Father Is Holy:
A great many people think that it is impossible to see the Spirit. That is erron
eous. Spirit is but a language. It is said, "Except a man be born of water and o
f the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John Chapter 3 verse 5)
. Spirit is Holy. There is no dot of sin in Him. It is a spiritual language. It
is said, "be holy even as I am Holy for no sin resides with Me." (Matthew Chapte
r 5 verse 48). Just as the one who called you is Holy, so also must you be holy
in all your life. The Spirit does not tell lies, He does not become exasperated.
He does not drink any liquor, He does not begrudge a person, He does not fornic
ate. Whoever does those things is not in Spirit. Right now people argue how the
Spirit can come upon a person. A person who does not tell lies, nor commit forni
cation, nor is cunning, nor is malicious, nor fights and quarrels, nor is angry,
nor has any sin in him, he is a Spirit because he is Holy.
What is being called a man of the flesh? He is a liar, a fornicator, a thief, a
person who drinks liquor, a necromancer, a murderer, a malicious person, a perso
n given to anger, a person who is cunning, a swindler, a person who hates the ot
her. That is a man of the flesh.
Who is then called a spirited person? He is a person who has love; who is truthf
ul; who is meek and temperant; having self-control; who is patient: who is merci
ful; who is humble.
To The Pure Everything Is Pure:
Many people continue to say, the Spirit cannot be seen. That is erroneous. If yo
u are pure in heart, will you not see the Spirit? Spirit is righteousness, love,
truth, mercy, humility, meekness and temperance. It is said, everything is pure
to those who are pure in heart. And to the unclean, everything is unclean. How
can you then believe when you are not pure in heart. If you are pure in heart, y
ou will not see things evil, you will not hear of things evil, you will not thin
k evil of anybody; you will be free in heart and in spirit. But at any time you
become exasperated, you will not even hear if you are greeted. If a person greet
s you, you will interpret it to mean, he is cursing you. You will not even see,
nor hear any good words.
In Order To Make Straight Your Path, Confess Your Sins:
You are told to make straight the path. The path spoken of, is your heart. If yo
u are overtaken by anger, maliciousness and hatred; how will you be able to see
that which is good, as well as Our Lord Jesus Christ. At any time you are happy,
you will be sound in mind and thought. But at any time you are angry, the words
you will speak will portray you as an angry person.
The first thing you have to do is to confess your sins, repent and be baptized.
Instead of doing this, the church will ask you, How many Lords are there? Who wa
s the mother of Jesus? Are these the important things? All of you have been bapt
ized in your various churches. Did you confess your sins before you were baptize
d? Go and ask any Bishop, or a Reverend, whatever he may call himself. What did
you do before you were baptized? Unfortunately they only sprinkle water on your
forehead, meaning, they have not been baptized by immersion. Another unfortunate
thing is, different church denominations like the Apostolic, Mount Zion, Church
of Christ and Jehovah's witness; simply immerse you into water without your con
fessing your sins. What is the meaning of such baptism?
Baptism Without Confession Is Unprofitable:
If you do not confess your sins before you are immersed in water; know such a ba
ptism is neither the baptism of John, nor of Our Lord Jesus Christ, nor of an an
gel, nor of any human being. Already you are a member of Rosicrucian, Amorc, of
De Lawrence, and have also initiated into different cults. Without confessing yo
ur sins, have you been baptized? Of what benefit can such baptism be to you?
Paul said, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forg
etting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which
are before. (Philippians Chapter 3 verse 13). Does Our Lord Jesus Christ not sa
y, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the k
ingdom of God? (Luke Chapter 9 verse 62). Now, you have not confessed your sins
and have decided to serve God; it means, your sins are ever with you. You are st
ill harboring in mind the transgressions against others, you are still taking ve
ngeance upon yourself; and you are still given to anger and quarrels.
When You Are Washed, Do Not Be Dirty Again Because There Is No Water Again:
Whoever has confessed his sins must not begrudge a person, must not quarrel, mus
t not impute sins on others; must not remember others transgressions; must not r
emember his past life and position, but always be looking forward. Watch and see
; at any time you begin to recount your past life and position and also remember
those things committed against you, then you are overshadowed with darkness. Yo
u will then begin to see things evil, hear of things evil; become troubled in mi
nd because you have not forsaken sin, neither have you confessed them. As long a
s you do not forsake sin, and repent and confess your sins, how will you be able
to believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ?
John's baptism was that of repentance in order that people may believe in Our Lo
rd Jesus Christ. Now, you have not repented of your sins, how will you believe i
n Our Lord Jesus Christ? You are fond of telling people to go and be baptized so
that they may be healed of their sickness. Is that why you must be baptized? Ba
ptism is for repentance.
Brethren, I do not want to bother you. Let our second lesson be read.
Second Bible Lesson: Matthew Chapter 3 verse 6
"And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins."
Apart from Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, where else do you find a person co
nfessing his sins before being baptized? It is only here in Brotherhood. You men
tion any other place to me? It is a matter of Catechism where you are asked, Whe
re was Jesus born? It is not also a matter of preaching. It is not a matter of v
ision. It is not a matter of reading the Bible or singing and dancing. Only conf
ess your sins of maliciousness, of fornication, of falsehood, of hatred, of stea
ling. Forsake and repent of all your sins. If you repent and confess your sins,
and are baptized, then you put on Christ. That is the judgement. If you repent a
nd confess your sins and be baptized you are justified, and will receive the Hol
y Spirit as a gift. If you confess your sins, you will be pure in heart and will
believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Baptism Should Be Preceded By Confession:
The mistake you make is to tell someone to be baptized in order to be free. The
person will not go with the spirit of repentance. A great many people in Brother
hood have been baptized five times because of the people who mislead them. They
are told, as soon as they are baptized, they will give birth to children. On hea
ring this, they will immediately go to be baptized but after the baptism, they d
o not give birth to children. As soon as they leave one station to the next, the
y will again be baptized in order to bear children. If you want to prepare a hou
se; keep it tidy in order to welcome your visitor. Is it by pouring water into t
he house that will keep it tidy or by sweeping the dirt and washing the house th
at will keep it clean? If you go to a stream and simply dive into the water and
then come out, will that sufficiently wash you clean? The right thing to do in o
rder to wash clean is for you to rub your body and the dirt will be rubbed off.
The dirt signifies the sins which you have to confess. You have to confess that
you have fornicated; you have told lies; you have stolen; you have been angry; y
ou have begrudged; you have quarrelled; you have fought. You must confess all th
e sins you have committed; none must be left unconfessed.
Why should a person who professes to have confessed his sins continue to steal,
tell lies, hate, indulge in the preparation of concoction and charms, drink liqu
or, consult oracles, fornicate, become angry? Has such a person confessed his si
ns? You can, therefore, see the pivot around which salvation revolves.
Do Not Be Like A Dog, Licking Back Its Vomit:
As soon as a person comes to you, telling you to come and baptize him, you will
simply tell lies, "Let us go." You sing of the river and then get him baptized w
ith the numerous sins in Him. He is with a number of concubines; he is a member
of a secret society. He is malicious. He has many cases in the court. Has such a
person been baptized? Why should a person who has confessed his sins go back to
steal, punish people, fornicate, and then come back to confess again? When you
do that I look at you with tears. It means that you do not know exactly what you
are doing and do not also know yourself.
Right from the day you repented and confessed your sins, and were baptized, you
should have nothing to do with sin. Having confessed that you have snuffed, sacr
ificed to idols, poured libation, initiated into secret societies, committed mur
der; told lies, you must never go back to them.
Baptism For Remission Of Sins:
I am only telling you about the baptism of John, I have not yet told you about t
he baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not forget what John said, "I baptize wi
th water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who comi
ng after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unlo
ose." (John Chapter 1 verses 26 and 27). And He shall baptize you with the Holy
Ghost and with fire. (Luke Chapter 3 verse 16).
Only Our Lord Jesus Christ Baptizes With Fire And The Holy Spirit:
Brethren, that is another Word of God. That will be another theme of the Gospel
to be delivered another day. But the theme of today's Gospel is the baptism of J
ohn. It is said, John turned the hearts of the children unto the parents and the
parents unto the children. If it were not his baptism in which people repented
and confessed their sins, and so purified themselves, no one would have seen Our
Lord Jesus Christ nor believed in Him.
That is why Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Among them that are born of women there
hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is leas
t in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." (Matthew Chapter 11 verse 11). T
he work of God is like a chain in which one passes into the next; so is the Word
of God. John said, "I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I co
meth, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize yo
u with the Holy Ghost and with fire." (Luke Chapter 3 verse 16). Our Lord Jesus
Christ said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and
greater works than these shall he do;" (John Chapter 14 verse 12); "because I s
aid, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I." (John Chapter 14 ve
rse 28).
The Christ, The Efficacy Of Baptism:
Tell Me the truth. Do you think, Our Lord Jesus Christ did not confess His sins
before He was baptized? Do you think He did not regard Himself as a sinner? Who
had invited Him for baptism? Is it John who invited Him? He simply confessed His
sins before His baptism. Baptism is not a thing to be taken lightly. There is n
o joke about it.
It is said, "And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins." (Matthe
w Chapter 3 verse 6). There is no person who has not confessed his sins before h
e was baptized. Many persons had to confess their sins.
Bestowal Of Holy Spirit Is Consequential To Baptism:
If baptism was not the primary thing what would have prompted Our Lord Jesus Chr
ist to go to John? He went to John and asked that he be baptized of Him. John ar
gued, "I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answ
ering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil a
ll righteousness. Then he suffered him." (Matthew Chapter 3 verse 15).
Of the twenty nine years in which Our Lord Jesus Christ was going about, was the
Holy Spirit with Him? Did He receive the Holy Spirit? He was no doubt conceived
of the Holy Spirit and also born of the Holy Spirit but did the Holy Spirit com
e upon Him? For Isaiah said, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the
LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to
bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives." (Isaiah Chapter
61 verse 1). Throughout the period he walked about, did the Holy Spirit come up
on Our Lord Jesus Christ? Our Lord Jesus Christ knew and believed that the Holy
Spirit would only come upon Him after baptism. If he was not baptized, he would
have been going about even till today without the Holy Spirit.
Whatever God has ordained or kept in position, you must not be offended by it no
r add nor subtract. If you add, punishment will be added to you and if you subtr
act, your name will be deleted from the book of life.
A great many people who come into Brotherhood, and are told to be baptized, will
begin to argue: "I have already been baptized many years ago." They have not be
en baptized. They are only saying that out of ignorance. Others too may come and
if you tell them to be baptized they will accept but will fail to confess their
sins. Because of that they are unable to see Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Repent And Confess Your Sins Before Baptism:
It is said, "And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins." (Matthe
w Chapter 3 verse 6). There was none left who did not confess his sins; whether
you were a king or a queen, you have to confess all your sins. Once you repent a
nd confess your sins and are baptized, you will be pure in heart, therefore be a
ble to see Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Baptism does not admit pleading for somebody to undergo because you always plead
with people to accept baptism. Often times you will make it a condition, if one
is not baptized, you will not extract the charm from his body. And because he w
ants the charms to be extracted from his body, he will accept to be baptized. If
he does not repent and confess his sins, before he is baptized, could you term
that baptism?
Denounce Your Membership To Secret Societies:
You must point out to the person those things which are sinful: anger, juju and
charms, drinking of liquor, fornication and adultery, lies, cunningness, fightin
g, quarrelling, initiation into secret societies, sorcery, maliciousness, steali
ng. You must read from the Bible passages which condemn these vices. (e.g. Galat
ians Chapter 5 verses 19 to 21).
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication,
uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations
, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings
, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time
past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (Gal
atians Chapter 5 verses 19 to 21).
The person has to repent and confess all the sins he or she had committed. The p
erson has to denounce his or her membership to cults and secret societies. It is
only after such confession and denouncement must he or she be baptized. When th
at is done, the person will be pure in heart, and able to see Our Lord Jesus Chr
ist.
Be Reconciled With Your Adversaries:
You must be reconciled with your enemies, those you have begrudged, together wit
h those you have imputed sins on. You must be completely divorced from sin. You
must have a pure heart. If your heart is pure, you will be able to see Our Lord
Jesus Christ.
It does not only end with confessing your sins and getting baptized, you must be
lieve in Our Lord Jesus Christ. For it is said, "We the sons of God, and it doth
not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we sha
ll be like Him." (1st John Chapter 3 verse 2). To repent of our sins is to confe
ss and forsake sins. This will help us to see Our Lord Jesus Christ, in order th
at we may believe in Him. Because it is said, "whose work are you doing, and you
r answer is, I am doing the work of the Lord." You are therefore told that no ma
tter what you may do, if you do not believe in Him, you will not see Him.
What is then the work of God? The work of God is to believe in Him whom God has
sent. How can you believe in Him whom God has sent, if you have not confessed yo
ur sins and if you are not pure in heart? Let our golden text be read.
Golden Text: Acts Chapter 19 verse 4
"Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unt
o the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that
is, on Christ Jesus."
Brethren, have you heard that? The baptism of repentance is by John the Baptist,
and the baptism of the disciples was for the remission of sin. Why then do peop
le argue, baptism is never administered twice? John's baptism was for repentance
but the baptism of the disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ was for the remission
of sins.
Can One Be Baptized More Than Once?
If you are baptized with the baptism of John and that of Our Lord Jesus Christ a
nd do not believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ, it means, you are not yet saved. Joh
n's baptism was only for repentance. If you only are baptized with his baptism,
you are not yet forgiven of your sins. If you are baptized with the baptism of J
ohn for repentance of your sins, you must also be baptized with the baptism of t
he disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. Then your
sins are forgiven, then you are saved and overcome, and you will receive the Hol
y Spirit.
You may forsake falsehood, fornication, drinking of liquor, indulgence in the pr
eparation of concoction and charms, but that is only the first step. There is ye
t something remaining for you to do. What is that which is remaining?
Do you believe, Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God? You have confessed your
sins and have been baptized. But do you believe, Our Lord Jesus Christ is the S
on of God, God Himself, the Lord of heaven and earth, and the one to forgive you
all your sins?
If You Confess Our Lord Jesus Christ Is The Son Of God, You Are Saved:
Do you regard Our Lord Jesus Christ as a Prophet? Do you regard Him as a Pope? D
o you regard Him as a Reverend? Do you regard Him as an Evangelist? Do you regar
d Him as a wonderful man? If you regard Him to be any of these, then you have fa
iled even though you may forsake sins.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Brethren, in order that you may be just
ified, you have to repent and confess your sins, and be baptized so that you may
receive the Holy Spirit as a gift. Once you believe, He is the Son of God, you
will be forgiven of your sins.
You should not argue, you are a Bishop, and have already been baptized. You clai
m to have been baptized but you are still snuffing, having amulets, telling lies
, drinking liquor, imputing sins on others. Is that the person who is baptized?
Are you pure in heart? If you are not pure in heart, how will you be able to see
Our Lord Jesus Christ?
Baptism Is the Sine Qua Non For Salvation:
That is the problem which has beset the whole world. That is why it is said, "Wh
osoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach m
en so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shal
l do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." (
Matthew Chapter 5 verse 19). The problem with people is, they claim to be Bishop
s, and give themselves different types of names.
Some churches use flags and wave them before a person. That is their own baptism
. The Muslims have their form of baptism. The Hindus have their methods of bapti
sm. Rosicrucian Amorc has its own way of baptism. Necromancers have their method
of baptism. The best of all the ways is the baptism of John. If you repent and
confess your sins, and be baptized; then believe, Our Lord Jesus Christ is the S
on of God, your sins will be remitted.
It does not end in receiving the baptism of John. You must be baptized of the ba
ptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ. What will happen to you if you repent of your si
ns but are not forgiven of your sins? You will not receive the Holy Spirit. None
of the disciples of John received the Holy Spirit.
The Word of God is very deep. Do not ask questions. I am leading you in the righ
t path. For Our Lord Jesus Christ had borne eloquent testimony about this glory.
He is my only witness. He said, "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye
cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will gu
ide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he sha
ll hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glor
ify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things tha
t the Father hath are mine." (John Chapter 16 verses 12 to 15).
The Spirit Of Truth Has Come:
Brethren, have you not seen that spirit of truth? It is no parable. Our Lord Jes
us Christ spoke in parables. This is the first of its kind ever since the creati
on of the world, that things are spoken to you openly and plainly. Brotherhood i
s that mountain which Isaiah saw, as recorded in Isaiah chapter two. It is exalt
ed above every hill. It is the highest heaven. Right now, members of the secret
societies hold, Brotherhood is the highest society. The church denominations mai
ntain, Brotherhood is not of God. The necromancers also hold, they do not unders
tand what Brotherhood is, and that it is a society from America. Why do they con
tinue to say these things? It is because they have refused to confess their sins
, become baptized and then believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
They believe that if you have money, money will take you into the Kingdom of God
. They also believe that if you are educated, your education will take you into
the Kingdom of God. It is erroneous. They believe, their different forms of bapt
ism administration, will take people into the Kingdom of God.
Peter got baptized seven times, before he was able to see Our Lord Jesus Christ.
So it is with many others. A great many people have been baptized as Roman Cath
olics, and later on they left; then baptized also as Apostolics and later left;
and then baptized into the Church of God and into Rosicrucian Amorc; and into ot
her organizations. Some of them have been baptized up to twenty times.
The Authority Of The Christ Was Unquestionable:
But the only recognized baptism, is that of John, which is the baptism of repent
ance and to believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ. For John said, "And I knew him not
: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom th
ou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which b
aptizeth with the Holy Ghost. And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of
God." (John Chapter 1 verses 33 and 34).
That is why when the Chief priest, scribes and the elders asked, Our Lord Jesus
Christ, "by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee
this authority? And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thin
g; and answer me: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? And they r
easoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why
then believed ye him not? But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone u
s: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet. And they answered, that they c
ould not tell whence it was. And Jesus said unto them, Neither tell I you by wha
t authority I do these things." (Luke Chapter 20 verses 2 to 8). Do you know que
stions are used in answering questions?
I Am Not God But Olumba Olumba Obu:
Right from the time the Brotherhood Pulpit was on the TV screen do people ask yo
u questions? Hitherto, you would complain, you were often asked questions. That
is because your preaching is confusion. That is why you are being referred to as
the false prophet spoken about. Because of the love I have, I have to declare,
I am not God but Olumba Olumba Obu. That has dumbfounded the people. Ever since
that Gospel was delivered, the way had been opened. You had closed the way and I
have to open it for all to come in. If there is any effective publication, that
is the number one. Any person who reads that publication, "I am not God but Olu
mba Olumba Obu" will become satisfied, because the members have misguided them.
As you continue to read the gospel, the Father will get hold of you and there is
no going back.
The World Regards Brotherhood As The Unknown God:
As soon as you read the book, you will begin to see visions and your eyes will b
e opened. If you have a son, whom you wish to advise but address him as "Okon, t
he thief;" he will not listen to you. God wants the heart. As soon as you call h
im, "Okon, my lovely son," he will listen and then take your advice.
That is why when Paul went to Athens, saw different gods and so declared to the
people, "For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with th
is inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him de
clare I unto you." (Acts Chapter 17 verse 23). After he had preached he followed
them to their gods. Finally, he had to invite them to his own God. That is how
Paul was able to win souls more than anyone else.
One Has To Go To The Market For New Clothes, With The Old Clothes On:
You cannot achieve anything by going to a person's house and telling the owner o
f the house to walk naked with you to the market, in order that you may buy new
cloth for him. No one will ever follow you because the person is not insane. Ima
gine an animal like the monkey. It holds that what is in the stomach, is what is
used in carrying, what is on the head; and whatever has gone into its stomach,
belongs to it; but the one in the mouth, belongs to the bullet; and that the bul
let is for the hunter.
I have taught you everything. Do not quarrel and fight. But rather employ love,
humility, truth, so that a person may agree to come with his old clothes, and re
ceive a new cloth with joy.
Brethren, I do not intend to be tedious unto you. It is said, a stroke of the ca
ne is sufficient for the wise. Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.
May God bless His Words. Amen.
THANK YOU FATHER.
