ABM 625: Fertilizer Technology and Management (2+0)
Types of fertilizers-their production and future demand in the country,
Composition and significance of fertilizers; role of nutrient elements and their
significance in plant nutrition, non-monetary inputs and their significance in
farming, micro-irrigation(including fertigation) techniques and their use efficiency,
Promotional and publicity activities, cost; benefit ratio of use of fertilizers
including specialty (fully water soluble) fertilizers. Integrated nutrient
management bio-fertilizers, significance of organic sources. Complaint handling.
Demand forecasting, development and management of dealers network, dealers
development and motivation, Fertilizer Control Order (FCO) and its application,
market intelligence, feed back and system improvement, time management,
market segmentation, product fit, inventory management, bench marketing of
sale terms and practices and competitors activities, cash flow management,
impact analysis, call cycle, VAT and its application.
B. HORTICULTURE
ABM 631: Value Addition in Medicinal, Aromatic and Spices Plants (2+0)
Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and Spices - their importance and
classification. An overview of the status of production, uses and export potential.
Salient research achievements in different value added products of medicinal,
aromatic and spices plants. Economics of value added products. Business
opportunities for different value added products in domestic and world market.

Semester- IV
ABM 649: Management traineeship project (15)
The traineeship is designed to provide the students with an opportunity to work
closely with experienced managers in an organizational setting. Every student
will select a research project in his / her filed of specialization in consultation with
the advisor / head of the department and will submit a written project report. The
report will be evaluated jointly by the external and internal examiners who will
also conduct viva-voce based on the project report.
