Empty columns/rows in EPM / BPC 10 report

This quesion is answered

Hi All,

I am trying to create a EPM report . For the formatting reasons , I need to have
empty columns in between.

1s Column- MAY.2013

2nd column - empty

3rd Column - APR.2013

and so on.

But what is happening is that , after I change the context member and refresh,
sysem is removing all the empty columns in between .

Is there any way to retain them even after I do a refresh.

Regards

Niki.

I could simply insert empty columns by checking the "keep formulas

satic that reference report cells" option under refresh tab for sheet
options.

Thank you all for your sugessions.

Hi Niki,

You can create a local member to insert a blank column.

Hope this helps.

Vijay.

Hi,

Any other way to ahieve this ? Because these reports will be published directly to wall
sreet , Even if i use localmember as '-" , this will appear in the report.

Niki.

Hi Niki,

I think you should set columns to "Keep All" under sheet options (as shown
below) and then try to insert empty column in your report between data columns.
I think it should retain them after refresh.

Hi Nikil,

As per your requirement, you can use EPMDimensionOverride() Function to insert blank
column.

1)Using EPMContexMember() call the time Dimension, then using excel function LEFT()
populate required member and other using EPMMemberOfset().

2)Concatenate all members including a blank member in between.

3)Use EPMDimensionOverride() for time Dimension and give the cell reference of the
concatenated members.
