Christ or Messiah
Jesus went on with his disciples,
to the villages of Caesarea
Philippi; and on the way he asked
his disciples, “Who do men say
that I am?”

And they told him, “John the

Baptist; and others say, Elijah;
and others one of the prophets.”

And he asked them,

“But who do you say that I am?”
Peter answered him,
“You are the Christ.”

And he charged them to tell no

one about him.
Mark 8:27-30

The Son of Man

And he began to teach
them that the Son of man
must suffer many things,
and be rejected by the
elders and the chief priests
and the scribes, and be
killed, and after three days
rise again.
Mark 8:31

As a Child
But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little
children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is
the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall
not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall
in no wise enter therein. Luke 18:16-17

Needy and
Repentant
And Zacchaeus made
haste, and came down,
and received him
joyfully.

“This day is salvation

come to this house.”

Luke 19:1-10

 Humbly and needy

Unbelieving
He was in the world, and though the world was made
through him, the world did not recognize him.

He came to that which was his own,

but his own did not receive him. John 1:10-11

Believing
Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God—
children not born of natural descent,
nor of human decision or a husband’s will,
but born of God. John 1:12-13

Jesus the Divider of Mankind

Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not
come to bring peace, but a sword.

For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter
against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law;
and a man’s foes will be those of his own household.

He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me;

and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake
will find it.

Matt 10:34-39
